So I followed a guide here: How to - weld center diff (lots of pics) - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com

To weld my center diff for my 4G63 Turbo AWD Hyundai Excel.
I followed everything to a "T" and am now experiencing a big issue. I cannot for the life of me, get the smaller gear off of the shaft. I've snapped a portion of a tooth off of the small gear and ruined it. :( I've tried heating it up with a torch and even bent my persuasion bar.

I've called it quits for the night. Its past 1am I think.

Any help is appreciated.

It needs to be coaxed off gently. Force will only make it bind up. I usually use 2 long flat head screwdrivers across from one another. and pry up in a smooth motion.

you mean this gear right? I use 2 flat screwdriveres to pry it up a little bit, and then use a 3 jaw gear puller to get it out.
I got my puller from autozone for 20 bucks or so, good investment :).

Thanks very much guys! I'm going to let Jack handle this as I see other damage inside the transmission... :(

That gear on the right, if you pull it make sure you put it back in the right way -- I put it in upside down once and started a whole thread on here about why my trans was locking up. Keep track!
