Forgive me but WTF are T-Taps and why does there need to be a slight charge to each speaker after the amp is gone? You got a link with some more info?

the battery is just to make the speaker make a pop noise, so you can figure out which wires are for which speakers on the amp harness. you dont keep the battery hooked up..
 
yeah because its all still running through the harness.....
T-Taps ar ethe plastic things that clamp onto a wire letting yuo connect another wire into it so you dont have to splice and connect.
you use the battery so you can "pop" the speaker making a slight sound so you know what speakers you have found in the harness
