I was running 2 12" 10 amp fans. Been running them for a year or so. Car would still get hot with AC on. Otherwise it was fine. I Installed a 16" spal fan this weekend on the driver side. Still running the same 12" fan on pass side. No other changes were made to the car that I am aware of. I used the factory wiring and plug. Fan advertised as 22a draw once up and running. I would assume the relays for the fans are 30a? They look like it anyway, can anyone confirm this?

On the way to work I noticed a very faint whispy smoke cloud rising up from under the steering wheel area. I felt the fan wires/relays and they don't seem to be getting hot. (Soldered factory plug to new fan.) Looked all over behind the dash and saw nothing obvious. What part of the fan circuit even goes behind the dash? Pulled the 16" fan plug and I see no more smoke. Haven't had a chance to really pull it apart and look into it yet. Just thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks.

To answer my own question...

So it looks like the factory relays are only 22A relays. I'll just run a seperate relay for the lage fan.
