I was looking at Evo tuning.. I was bored... and I stumbled across something that they use a lot as a logger. It is called EvoScan. I went on the web site: http://www.limitless.co.nz/#SupportedVehicles, and it actually says it works with our cars too and any mitsubishi up from 94 using the "MUT/MUT-II/MUT-III protocol" for the logging... This logger logs everything including knock sum.. would it be possible that because this logger uses the Mitsubishi protocol and not the generic obd protocol that it can log things that the other generic obd2 loggers can't?

Has there been any progress on the ecu plus end of things? I don't want to spend the money on link and an eprom if I can use this

Hoping to get some wisemen in on this thread...this technology is very, very cool, especially the ECUFlash end of things. Problem is seeing as I know nothing about tuning or the ECU, I am wondering if ECUFlash is even feasible on the DSM ECU, much less offered for it.

I had emailed the guy at evoscan last week and said I have a 96 talon running a 95 ecu, and will the cable and software work and was it released for this ecu. He said yes and sent me the link of where to buy the cable. I haven't gotten the cable or anything yet to try it but thats some good news I suppose. If it didnt' work on the previously said 95 dsm it could be because they haven't installed the newest upgrades. I hope this works, I would much rather log on a laptop than on a little damn logger.

I should be getting the cable pretty soon, money is short right now with school. I'll be sure to post up whether or not it works once I do get it. Here is the link for the cable the guy at evoscan sent me: Mitsubishi OBDII DataLogger - EvoScan

If anyone else gets this before me please post up your findings! It definately seems a lot of us are very interested.

After hours of searching I stumpled upon this site, Hand Held Halo Datalogging, which supposedly is a 12-pin OBD1 connector to a serial port connector and then a serial port to a USB adapter. Unfortunatly this guy is based in England so shipping to the states may be a little but after the conversion from pounds to dollars I think it was about $70, which is about the same as the Evoscan cables. I am still waiting for the cord to arrive to see if it works with Evoscan, I will repost with any results, but with the cord is some 3rd party datalogger software so if evoscan doesn't work may still be able to get some info. So anybody who was having the same trouble getting a 12-pin OBD1 to USB cable this may be an answer, at least worth a look and he also had some ODB2 stuff but mainly it was all Mitsubishi connectors and software. Still hoping the cord I got will work with evoscan because it looks like a pretty sweet program. Also I bought the cord with the 12-pin and 16-pin connector thinking it works on OBD1 cars but no such luck, will not initialize, just in case anyone is curious.

That is a good find i don't know why our ebay serial 3 pin cable would not work then. But end up getting this i would really want to know for sure if it worked with evoscan first.

i sent some pictures to evo scan of what the cable looks like under the dash and they are going to see what they can come up with.

So the 97s can use the datalogging feature, but not ECUflash? and evoscan wont have a fast sample rate as stated because the 97 ECU its not MUT protocol? I want to buy a datalogger, and I would much rather buy this over a pocketlogger.

I emailed evoscan and they said if I get a serial to usb ftdi adapter I could use my datalogger cable that I had for my palm and use it on my laptop. Just thought some of you 1g guys might want know.

That is my problem with the 12 pin.

I already tried my stock cable and i could not get it to work that is why i want to get the evoscan cable i need. but if someone can get it to work on a 1g i would like to see the cable and setup so i can follow along.

Well it looks like evoscan is getting closer to being compatible with our 95-96 cars. Take a look at the website and you'll see that the wording has been changed from "support will be introduced next week" to "support will be introduced once I crack this beast any day now." Haha not that that's really all that hopeful, but at least its being worked on!

I got the program and the cable from them, he told me it would work on my '97 gst and '91 talon Awd.

I tested on the '97 gst and it works perfect, you can log knock, injector duty cycle,.... A lot of cool stuff.
But about the '91 talon, nope. The cable that he sends is the one somebody posted above, it's a USB with OBDII connector and a thin black wire coming out of it that goes to the 12 pin white connector also suplied.
But the problem is that the 12pin connector has only 1 wire on it, so you can't connect with just 1 wire.

I asked him about it and he told me that he only said that "it would work with minor wiring modification". (that's not what you can understand from the website)
And that he will send me soon an explanation of how to rewire the 12pin connector to make it work with the cable and software.

I'm still waiting....
