I was looking at Evo tuning.. I was bored... and I stumbled across something that they use a lot as a logger. It is called EvoScan. I went on the web site: http://www.limitless.co.nz/#SupportedVehicles, and it actually says it works with our cars too and any mitsubishi up from 94 using the "MUT/MUT-II/MUT-III protocol" for the logging... This logger logs everything including knock sum.. would it be possible that because this logger uses the Mitsubishi protocol and not the generic obd protocol that it can log things that the other generic obd2 loggers can't?

I just purchased evoscan I plan on using it. it looks better than my pocketlogger software that I have on my palm pilot.

it will be awhile until I use it. I have to get a new engine and tranny.

I have the obdII serial cable/. Does anyone know of any ways to make this cable work with evoscan..

I don't think the pocketlogger cable will work. They use the OBDII protocol and you need a cable that can handle the MUT-II/III protolcol. You have to buy a 1.3U or 1.3b cable from them.

EvoScan software is confirmed working with these vehicles, using a FTDI USB OBD-I 12pin cable is required.
23) Mitsubishi Eclipse/DSM (1995 and 1996 support will be introduced next week, register now and you will get a free update)

m Oney pit: im actually not using ECUflash, just EvoScan.

dikdiamond: This is perfect for beginners and veterans of tuning. Its really easy to use and after a little bit of playing around you'll figure out how to make your own gauges and get them to work correctly.

I just bought my GSX a month ago and had never tuned anything before but my radio. LOL It's really easy.

Mike

I'll have a pic up of the cable soon.

i found the cables i think

Mitsubishi OBDII DataLogger - EvoScan

It is 80 bucks and 20 for the software.

Yep, thats the cable that you can buy with EvoScan. It ends up being $104.00 after shipping and handling.

And here's a pic. of it. It even comes with pin 1 grounded! :thumb::rocks:

i already have that cable installed on my evo i am going to take it out tonight and try to see if it fits on the evo.

That would be cool if i did not have to buy another cable but i thought OBD-2 was different then OBD-1

the 12pin vs 16pin

Lucky for me I have a '95:cry: The site says they are going to be supporting 95-6 in about a week. Does anyone know if the update is out yet, or if it will indeed log an EPROM ECU? From what I understand it is not compatable with 95 EPROM's...

Well last night i looked and looked under the dash and i can not find any port on that i can plug anything that looks like the EVO cable plug in on the 1g.

All that i do see is the three wire one that the old datalogger goes in to.

So i really don't know what to do with the 1g and EVO scan i still have not got a email back for what cable i need from the EVOSCAN guys.

Grrr.

98GSXtreme07 - Would you mind checking functionality of ECUflash on our 98-99 ecu?

Its not that I wouldn't mind but I'm still new to this whole tuning thing. I'm still learning with my datalogger (EvoScan). Maybe once I know for sure it works with our cars fully I might give it a try. Also, I still need to get used to openecu's website and figure out where everything is.

Mike

I've used EvoScan for months on my '99 GSX, and it works fine. However, I am unable to get the EcuFlash program to work. I was able to get it to read the make, model, and year from the ECU, but nothing else.

I'm talking about EvoScan, ECUFlash is out of the picture for me, but it would be nice to have a good logger...

I have Evo scan, and his original cable.. Neither worked for my 95 Talon. I bought it last year.
The developer even told me the cable will work 100%.. It would not work with any other software either.
He doesnt reply to emails or any thing, not very trustworthy.

Thats truly unfortunate. Especially since now, some time later, there is much documentation in regards to the non-functionality of '95 dsms. Hopefully you can get some cash out of it through the classifieds.

Subscribing to this thread, I have a 95' EPROM in my GST. Use it for injector compensation, so I really don't want to go back to the 98' ECU. Whoever has legit information on the use for the 95-96 ECU's keep us posted, I'm sick of using my palm logger.
