Thinking about saving and getting the 2004 Evo instead of buying a GSX. What do you guys think about the evo? pros and cons?

Yes, but the fact that he got there is pretty good. Alot of things come into play when making that much power on a stock 4cycl motor. Yes the supra can handle it, but most 4's would have thrown a rod alot sooner. His tune would have to be perferct and if he was driving it like a fool, then that is expected.

How many people on the board here have 500hp with a stock bottom end? I know people have done it, but they too are soon to rebuild or replace something for the fear of this example you have mentioned.


Most of the people on this board would get there ass handed to them by an SRT4. AWD is a factor for about the first 60' then it is all about driving and power.

The SRT is only in the slight shape of a NEON just like the GS & RS version of the eclipse is in the same skin as a GSX-GST. One engine is made to make power from the factory, while the other has a way of getting to the level it was NEVER intended to be at.

The SRT is only in the slight shape of a NEON just like the GS & RS version of the eclipse is in the same skin as a GSX-GST. One engine is made to make power from the factory, while the other has a way of getting to the level it was NEVER intended to be at.

The Eclipse came out with the Turbo car BUT had the RS & GS for the people who didn't care much for performance & liked the body style. I would have more respect for the Neon if it had came out with the SRT4 along with the base Neon. Most companies have already paved the way for turbo cars. SRT4 is like a follower, peon, peseant. You see what I'm saying, if Mitsu had the choice of just ALL turbo cars thats what they would have done, because the Eclipse was meant to be a turbo car.

500h/p? Thats great, but we're talking about reliable horse power to the block. Thats like saying lets squeeze 900out of a stock 4G63 just to say it can do it EVEN if it blows up/throw a rod.
