Evo 9 faster than Evo 8 ???

hey guys do you know if the EVO 9's engine is any different than the EVO8's ??? if so, what is the different between the two... ive heard the evo 9 are a bit faster due to a different head and some type of a difference in the turbo... any news on this ?

on a lighter note, do you guys know if the front and rear differential gears on GSX's are interchangable (can the front gears in the diff. be swapped to the ones in the rear? )

I do know that the front and rear diffs are the same ratio but I am not sure if the ring gears are interchangeable. Why do you want to know?

Oh and this thread really should have been posted in the hangout because it seems that the only tech question was an afterthought.

EVO 9 have MIVEC. EVO 9 has 286hp EVO 8 has 276hp.

The evo 9 has a signifigantly larger turbo than the evo 8. There's a thread in the hangout of one that made 350whp with a mbc, k&n filter, and exaust.

Not significantly bigger but it's bigger. Also MIVEC helps out with that along with a reflashed ECU.
