evo 8/9 rims

I am in the process of purchasing some evo 9 rims and just had a few question. The rims are coming with tires yokahoma 235 45 s4's. the question that i had was for those who have used these rims before how would you rate them as overall performance goes. Just for everyday driving and road racing. cause that is in my list of things i plan to do with them.

I'm running 245 45 17's on a 17 in evo 9 enkei rim. I tried to lower my car by 1.5 inches and the fenders rubbed over every bump. Even at stock height now the rear will rub a little over big bumps. As for performance, they are great and I think they only wiegh around 20 pounds each. Get them, and run the 235 tire, you wont regret them.

I have the evo 9's with the yokohamas. Theyre great tires. Not a lot of road noise while daily driving but still hold good traction when your pushing it

going from my 16"s to my Evo wheels is night and day for handling. Granted the Evo wheels have more agressive tires, the lower profile helps. Goes from flobby loose feeling to tight and percise. And the extra 30mm of tire helps grip a lot too.

I got the tires today and wow what a difference! The car is much more solid feeling than before. It also seems that the car is slightly higher than before but that cant be since the tires are still the same size. I really do like the way it feels though. I would give these a 10 so far but i havent really gotten to test them the way i want to just yet

no rubbing, more grip, a bit of road noise
better in looks and performance than stockers

Yeah that looks about what mine looks like. I'll post the pics later but still rides nice. I can really tell the difference when cornering.

rims look great now you need to get some coil overs because it looks like your driving a monster truck with all that fender gap

EvolutionM.net forums classifieds has them generally but those guys do get high with their prices. I bought my Evo IX enkeis with the oem advans for 550 picked up so it wasn't too bad of a deal

you could try a junkyard or even a mitsu dealership

love evo 8 wheels on 2g's.. it looks like they were made for 2g's more than Evo's IMO

yeah i know but its one thing a time. I am still trying to get my fuel pump on and i have had it for over 2 months now. springs may come sometime down hell i dont know when money is tight these days.

i really liked the megan racing springs when i had them on my car they gave me hella drop with a stiff ride but as we all know lowering springs on stock struts is a formula to fail i really like kyb agx's but those rims on your car are super sexy i want a set now. have you seen the evo x mr wheels

yeah there are a couple of pictures on here with a gst with brembo's and he has the mr rims. I did the coil over thing with stock struts on my rs and learned that is a bad idea. I was thinking of the eibach springs with kyb's or tein oe springs.

i also got some evo 8 Rims for my 1g from EvolutionM.net I got them for 600 shipped with new tires on them. They look awesome! just to bad the 1g doesn't run atm . New wheels and 0 miles stupid electrical problems

Another good tire size to consider is 245/40-17. Your choice 225/45-17 works too, and looks good.

not sure on a 2g but i'd think that's pushing it, depends on if your lowered or stock and how much you want to rub
