okay so i just put in a evo III turbo. problem is that it spools very slow. spool starts going around 4500-5000 rpm. on the t25 spool started around 3000-3500. whats going on:confused:

You have an aftermarket boost gauge? Have you checked for boost leaks? Pre exhaust leak? Is it a fake eBay turbo, used? Any shaft play?

My brother had an evo3 turbo on his gst which hit full boost in the 3500-3700 range if I recall.

^^^^^ goddddd I'm always to slow :(

Have you started by looking for a boost leaks and checking for possible shaft play? Also you may want to post a log of your tune, could possibly be the issue.

Did you check for boost leaks? Make sure your wastegate flapper isnt open and that you have no exhaust leaks pre-turbo.

My girls gst t25 starts spooling much sooner than that. On my evo 3, I saw 20psi at 3300 rpms FWIW

One time I removed my intake to work on something and when I reinstalled it the rubber sleeve that goes over the compressor inlet slide off and was inside the intake! :ohdamn: I didnt notice it when I installed it. I drove the car and the turbo would not spool! I messed with my MBC and eventually removed the intake to see that the rubber sleeve was inside the compressor inlet and the shaft put a hole in it! Thankfully it didnt eat it, I reinstalled it and everything was fine.

Wonder if you're intake is restricted? What are you using to control boost? maybe disconnect the MBC/EBC and run the vacuum line from the wastegate to whatever manifold pressure source you are using to see if that changes anything ? :hmm:

Could be the turbo itself, if it were me I would remove it all and reinstall it make sure everything is correct.

Could you post a pic of your setup? Just curious.

If you have a front mount then that seems about right. The spool time won't match up to the t-25 since the Evo 3 is a bigger turbo it takes a bit longer to reach full boost. Do you have a front mount?

Fmic or no, 3000 rpms should put that turbo at 20 psi. I can build that much boost on a stock stall, no antilag. Something is way off. Either engine comp is low, or there is a horrible leak. Or just something wrong with your cheapbay turbo, go figure :)

Throw that ebay turbo in the garbage and put the t-25 back on. You are jeopardizing your motor running with that crappy turbo as it is possible for it to go out and fling metal bits into your motor.

well yea im doing wrong by putting a fake turbo on. but my brother had it on his gst and worked good . im only putting that turbo on it because the stock one blow out and i needed something quick(daily driver).

Make sure you got all your turbo to manifold bolts tight. If you didn't that would cause your slow spool for sure.
