I am sorry but I recently acquired an EVO 8 FMIC for 50$. One side is a little beat up (backed into by a trailer hitch), but the other side is fine. I have listed a few basic questions below:

1.) I am running a stock T-25 (other mods listed in profile if needed), would this FMIC be too much?

2.) Is it worth putting an EVO 8 FMIC on a 2g (considering I paid $50 for the intercooler)?

3.) Can I pressure test it the same way I pressure test the entire system, except I cap the other end of the intercooler?

4.) Can I use VFAQ.com for step-by-step install, or is this intercooler too different from their examples?

5.) If #4 does not work, then does anyone know of an alternate?

6.) Possibilities of running dual-intercooler?

I know some of these are newbie questions, but I learn about my car as I dismantle and rebuild. I thank you for your help ahead of time.

Someone please close this non sense ... there have been multiple threads asking this before. You're almost better off keeping your sidemount with a t25 anyways.

The reason why I start a nonsense post like this is because there ARE several posts about this topic but no defintive answer. Not to mention the set ups on the cars in question are so severly different than mine that all information is regarded useless. The database is too big here to produce results. If you don't want to participate in the topic, than please stay out of it.

No. Some will tell you that putitng a FMIC on a T-25 powered car does more harm than good, but I completely disagree, especially if you're running the turbo to its limits (trying to hold 15PSI to redline.) At that point, you're getting a lot of hot air exiting because your spinning the tiny compressor wheel so fast. A FMIC will provide less pressure drop than the stock SMIC, and turbochargers push so much air anyway that the extra piping might make a 0.02% difference in spool time. You might see a drop in the maximum pressure you can hold to redline after installing the FMIC, but if you do, it's because the cooler air is less dense, and therefore takes up less space. You'll be able to push in the same amount of air molecules with air that is cooler, which will give you a safety net for detonation and preignition.

Absofrickenlutely. EVO 8 intercoolers have been proven to about 450HP.

You sure can.

Not sure on this one since I haven't done a FMIC install myself, but it shouldn't be too different.

If you run the stock SMIC in conjunction with the FMIC, you elminate one of the perks of a FMIC - better flow through the core. There could be benefits from the extra cooling, but on the flip side, it's also possible that the added restriction would create enough heat (compressing air creates heat) to negate any benefits. I don't think that realistically anyone's ever tried it, though.

Thank you for your time and effort put into answering my questions. I found them to be very useful and I hope others also find them useful in the futue.
