Anyone experiencing a weird stuttering problem when they roll on the gas? As I spool up, it hits a spot where it goes lean. I have lean spool disabled.

It's weird, because the symptoms are just like the lean spool. It suddenly jumps from 11.5:1 up to 13.5:1.

If I just brake boost it, it's fine and pulls hard all the way to the redline.

yea i have the same prob like from 2.5k to like 3k-ish it stutters.. im gonna try to disable some bits in faa when i get my car back to see if that will help...

in faa bit 10 = 0 and bit 11 =1 seemed to fix it. it drives better it doesnt give the random cruising knocks at lease as much as it did before. i didnt get to log cruise timing but yea feels a hell of a lot better.!!! seems like this emissions eco friendly stuff just makes your car run literally retarded just to keep some co2 out the atmosphere

Would pin number 43 need to left intact to successfully use the 2-step?

is your car an auto? i don't have any experience with the autos but if it is a manual then you will need to add a wire from the clutch switch (black wire with red stripe, i think, i can double check today. i need to get under the dash and start setting this talon i bought up for the EVO8 ecu) to pin 43.

My car is an auto. I'm going to look into it more next week. I sometimes see weird dips in my Hz readings when it happens. I'm not sure which happens first though.

hmm i never looked at Hz... i was too busy analyzing the timing because i just seemed sporadic. like it would ramp up and the around 2750 rpm-3500rpm the timing that the ecu "ramped up"/accumulated just drops in that range so that why i thought it was the timing and egr and stuff. but my 3rd gear wot pull last nigh spot on. i had a cruise long and it got messed up so i cant even compare . give the faa bits a try though.:D

Ok, so you turned off the erg and the timing knock down. Did you reduce your regular timing maps? I've read that some of the Evo guys were running too much timing once they turned that off and had to retune.

starting @ 100 load and 2000 rpm block is the beginning of my wot pull.

it follows the map so much more accurately. and i only had 1 count of knock!!!!! i guess it isnt great for evos but works fine for my dsm maybe will work for a lot in general.

also is anyone having trouble with cold start? my car sound like a freaking subi when i started it this morning about 7am. boost gauge was about 9-10 inHg(instead of the 20-21), soo i no the timing was retarded so that it would not idle high but i cant get around all the ipw and cost start ect maps i saw on evom. and i dnt have a wideband yet..( i know i know) so i dont want top mess with them.

Then I'm probably describing it as worse than it is. My car is hesitant to spool and runs fairly rich at cruise and fairly lean during accel for about a minute or two. I generally don't hear misfire (though I used to) and I can get on it and get it to throw me back in the seat.

Do you have a MAP sensor? I would love to see a log and I'll try and get a clean log to show the boost curve on my e316g. I would also love to see the boost curve on a 14b equipped 2g. If we could get some of those curves together I think it would make for a very interesting comparison. Of course it would also probably take doing it on the same transmission...

when i heard it this morning i didnt bother driving off i let the car completely warm up, then it went away. it just sounded like it was retarding the timing to heat up the car. i looked at the warm up timing map and it is a lost of timing retard hence why my car sounds like that but i was just wondering is there anyway to make it sound like it not dying and at the say time not let it take for ever to warm up? because i saw my rpms drop to about 300ish...

I don't have a MAP sensor... yet.

I had this issue for a short period. I might suggest that it has to do with the MAF scaling. I'm no longer running an MAF but when I had that sort of issue (car trying to cut out) I went ahead and raised my low load in my SD calibration table (obviously you wont have one because you don't run SD) since then I haven't had an issue like that at all. Now I just have hesitant early hesitation and the car is somewhat louder at startup. I absolutely do not have an idle quality issue so that isn't inherent to the basis of this problem.

Knockgoon: I'm definitely a fan of my GM 3bar. It cost me about $45 and does everything I need. If I still had a stock IM then I might have gone with one of the bolt in replacements but honestly this one was so easy that it doesn't matter. Tuning with it is pretty nice too, so is not breaking traction every time that I hit the throttle.

maf is scaled i have my trims with in +/- 3%

My startup is a bit rough when cold BUT its even worse when i turn the car on and its not col IE 140*. Didn't make any difference after removing my emissions stuff including egr so my guess its something else. Still haven't looked too much into it since i haven't had much time.

i did a log of the egr disabled through faa ( i didnt take off the egr valve or anything just disable it through the rom) and timing wasnt retarded as i though but rather advanced like hell @ times i would see 20*-28* wen i enabled it again and restarted the engine timing was normal at 4*-7*... im really puzzled im gonna post this on evom and see what they come up with.
