Hey
replacing a 6bolt in a 2g, with another 2g. here a some questions i have.
first of all, the initial swap, ive never pulled just the motor out of a talon, what are some pointers on doing so, supporting the tranny, sliding it out, ect.

also, what parts do i need to swap from the 6bolt swapped 6bolt into the replacement 6bolt? so work in the 2g.

and the egt install, is this something i want to do before the turbo is bolted on? or can it be done anytime/
thanks,

here is the engine install. since you already have a 6 bolt its probally going to be easier, but its hard to understand what you are doing with the message you left, but here is a write up from magnus on a 1Gina2G http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/article_1g2g.htm

Also for the EGT, here is a short write up http://www.vfaq.com then go to dsmvfaq. then to gauges. It can be done anytime but if you have the ex mani off why not do it now if you have the probe. That way you are less likey to have the turbo chew up some filings.

Have you even done a search on this topic? Seems to me there is atleast 1 swap thread every single week. If you already have a 6 bolt in the car and you're putting another 6 bolt into it, why would you need any parts at all? Many people suggest taking out the block with the tranny. I didn't have a hoist or anything so I left the tranny in and slid the block out. Make sure you have new gaskets for everything. As for the EGT, you'll probably want to do it with the manifold out of the car. It's extra insurance that you don't get any metal shavings going through your turbo or anything like that.

i have a 6bolt swapped 2g.

what i am doing, is replacing the motor with another complete 6bolt.
its got all manifolds, and everything. my question is what parts do i have to swap from the 6bolt swapped 6bolt, onto the new 6bolt to make it swap compliant for the 2g.

and about pulling the motor, i hear its easier to leave the tranny where its at, just unbolt the slave, starter, and the xcase, unbolt the engine from the tranny, and slide it out.

im going to look at your links. and hopefully that will explain it to me,

done a search? yes, but Now days, I have very little time for such tings, I work out of town staying in hotels, I come home late friday night, and leave out monday morning at 6am.

very little time,
I want to find the easiest fastest way to do the swap so i can have my car back before i have to go to work.

Ack, just posting here to see if someone could post a link on what all will be needed for a 90 2.0 N/T to swap into a 95 GST. Everything is in there but the motor of course. Water pipes, sensors, thermostat housing maybe? I believe I've read these in here somewhere.... just double checking. A link would be awesome. Thanks all!
