Hello Dsmtuners.

the other day i was playing around with my talon and i turned the boost up on the MBC. Took it out and the engine started to stutter, I was able to drive about 3/4 before it started to stutter. If i put on the gas lightly it will slowly build up speed and the engine sounds like a dsm should. I tried setting the boost back down to the original 10 psi. But now it seems like my MBC has no controll over my boost pressure, i took it out today and it was pushing 16 psi when i had the boost controller completely shut.

Now back to the engine stutter when i drove my talon today it would cut in and out from the stutter. Some times the engine would wind up fine and then it would go back to complete shit. I have tried putting fuel stabilizer in the tank hoping was just some bad gas. One thing i did notice is that my exhaust manifold has a about 1" crack on the top. could this be effecting the boost?

Any input is greatly appreciated! turbos are not my most experienced field! :banghead:

I have the same problem but mine is still unresolved. Try looking at my thread. I have done many things to fix it but unsucessful. What I have already tried may work for you. Just a suggestion.

have you done a boost leak test yet? that could tell you a lot. also, how bad is that crack on the manifold? is it all the way through?

Anything that is "pre-turbo" meaning a good crack in the exhaust manifold, is just like a boost leak and can cause power loss due to gases NOT flowing through the turbo. It is also possible that the MBC is messed up and should bypass the MBC and just go directly from the pressure source (normally the j-pipe) to the wastegate to see if that is part of the cause. I would probably look into replacing the stock manifold with a 2G manifold or better to increase overall flow and get rid of the problematic cracking 1G manifolds
