Engine sounds like it starts knocking at 3k rpms is it the turbo??

When I start the car everything is fine but when I rev it to 3k rpms starts sounding like a bearing is bad but only does it when I hit 3k rpms and up have been told it's a turbo it's a stock t25 by the way

Sounds like a rod bearing. Hard to tell from a short description with no video.

Yeah but it only does it when I rev it up to 3,000 rpms and when I drive it it does it in 1st gear but not in the rest only at higher rpms and I was told if it was the rods the engine would have been done by now??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a turbo were making that much noise, wouldn't it have a lot of shaft play?
