Engine pull help

Trying to pull my engine on a 91a tsi on my drive way .. Everything is detached other than the transfer case ... Do I have to pull the shaft or will the splines just separate when I lift it

U have to pull the tcase and remove drive shafts otherwise u could screw up the slines in the trans passanger side driveshaft has a clip inside trans and makes it hard to get it out i always take a pry bar and get it behind the cup on the trans and pop it loose

Ok I popped out both axles by dropping the lower bolts of the struts..easy enough... But I have no real way of lifting the car it's self if I drop the carriers dose it slack enough to pull out?

If you loosen the drive shaft carriers the driveshaft will slide out a bit, but not enough for you to pull the tcase off. You'll have to loosen the bolts that connect to the diff as well.

Just unbolt the tcase i did it many many times using just your standard floor jack its 15 bolts if i recall they are 17mm or 19mm im leaning toward 17mm though

15? I found five.. Lol

There's five bolts holding the tcase to the Trans. If you have an aftermarket downpipe you may need to remove that as well

Yup super easy pulling these motors ive done it to many damn times ive pulled and swapped in new motor and trans in a night after work

I'm seeing that . The first time for me on these on my own so far about 5 hrs in that and it's a stock bay holy vlines
