Okay, so I my buddy and I just re built a 7 bolt, eagle rods, 8.5.1 pistons, crank, new bearings, new everything. I did a little re search on the forums and everyone was just throwing out all different types of stuff, so I wanted to get it narrowed down a little.1. For my break in period should I use normal oil, or synthetic? I heard synthetic is better for turboed cars but not good for break in period cause its too thin, idk? 2, how often should I change the oil? Every 600, 1500, 3000 sound good? Or should I be more frequent? And 3, speed/ rpm wise, should I take it right to the highway or my first 500 miles drive it city/ low rpm and after that highway/ low n high rpm?
Would REALLY appreciate all the correct answers/ opinions, I want this motor to be strong and last me and I just wanna do it correct the first time

do not use synthetic oil for break-in that equals bad things LOL, i rebuilt my motor and have changed the oil a lot, 100, 250. 500. 1500. 3000. keep off the highway for roughly 1000-1500, and vary your speed, hope this helped

Thanks grattino! And thank you slo1g, I'm def going to look into it when I get out of work, thanks man

Synthetic is fine for break in. Many new cars come with synthetic from the factory. I wouldn't use it since you should start it, let the temp come up, beat on it, and then change the oil in less then 100 miles or so. Synthetic is a little spendy just to use to clean the crap out of the engine for 100 miles.
