Hey guys i just got a 97 gst and its pretty much stock..As i was driving it the 2nd week it started to break up when i stepd hard on the gass..like it dosnt lose power it just skips and goes up slow (around 5k rpm) i thought it was something simple like the sparkplugs so i bought new 1s and it stoped..but now its doing it again..can it be i gaped the sparkplugs wrong mayb? Or sparkplug wires..im honestly not sure why its doing that any sugguestions? (5 speed)

What kind of plugs did you install? How do your spark plugs look now after you have changed them? You could have a boost leak and be fouling out your plugs because you are running rich.

i bought denso iradiums..the old plugs i took out were shotttttttttt ..

I had a weak clip on brand new plug wires, and it would pop off the plug and misfire like crazy when driven like a dsm should.

Denso??? Iridium??? Good luck getting your coil to fire those things off, or trying to gap them. I bet the guy at the counter told you they were what you need.

I would say get some NGK's they wear out, but they work, I have had problems with the wrong plugs in cars, when they got hot they dont want to work, or you try to restart after getting a slurpee, and your stranded.

They have yet to fail me.

Ok then wait till its dark outside turn on the engine and pop your hood and look at your Spark plug cables, dont touch them, check for any sparks escaping for ground.
I know you said your cables looked good but its never bad to make sure, so if yo0u see sparks flying around replace them, if not getyour self a manual and check the resistance on your coil pak.
