OK guys I have a couple questions. I just got my new dsm. When I first start my car and start driving it around it will like free rev up to 1500-2000rpms when it is in neutral. And it has a built up 2nd gear (mods in profile) and it will grind 2nd a lot of the time. Also the belt I think it is will make the squeaky noise for a couple seconds then be gone. Do any of these things sound like they need to be changed quickly or are they just going to happen? Thanks.

First of all did you check if theres any hydraluic fluid if thats the case make sure there isnt any air you might have to bleed the clutch. second what belt you talking about bro

I am not sure which belt it is. My car doesnt have balance shafts does that eleminate a belt?

The belt is possibly one of the accessory drive belts (A/C, alternator, or p/s). Check those belts and see if they need to be replaced or adjusted.

As far as the idling, try adjusting the idle screw in the engine, see if that helps...

Hydraluic fluid? WTF This isn't a John Deer Tracter.

Yes it eliminates a balance shaft belt. The noise is either your power steering, alternator, or a/c belt. Change your tranny fluid and read up on ISC and BISS screw. Hope that helps. Good luck. :thumb:

My guess is that its going to be your alternator belt. Check that one first because mine has squeeked a couple of times and it has always been that belt :)

As for grinding second mine did the same thing. I think it is just something to do with the DSM trannies that causes that. Bad synchros or gear gap or something. Good luck.. :)
