New engine & tranny questions

I recently bought a 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD with 64,000K miles on it. After having it for awhile, it started popping out of fifth gear so I had the tranny pulled to check it out. The shop called me today and told me that I need a new transmission, transfer case, and engine. I'm going to look into to what they said really hard, but if I am this screwed I'm gonna need to get a new tranny and engine. I just need some advice on what engine and tranny I should get and where I can get them. Any other ideas or advice would also be appreciated.

If your getting a new engine, do the 6 bolt.

Now all i need is a new transmission. Where is a good place to look for one and would it be better to buy a brand new one or a used one.

try www.risingsunengines.com Im not sure if thats exactly it you might have to search but you can buy a low milleage awd tranny for like 450 bux.

-Have you get a second opion? this shop 1st told you that you need a new engine+tranny+X'case, now it's a tranny.
-How about rebuilding the current tranny?

Thanks for all of the help. I know that the repairs are gonna be expensive, but i want to make sure i do it right.
