EGT Gauge

I searched and didn't find anything. Does anybody know a thread or link that teaches how to read egt gauge?

It's not complicated, just be sure do stay under 1550F, sometime I go till 1650F but not olding it long (3-5 sec MAX) if you old it at 1700F 5sec, you will melt a non-forged piston. The EGT raise fast with hi boost-hi rev.

Go for a cruise on the highway and tune in 4th gear. Start at 3000 rpm in 4th and hold your foot down, the EGTs should never go above 1600-1650 F, you should get a steady increase in temperature. At steady speed look for around 1400F..If you do it(tune) in 3rd and are close to 1600F in the upper RPM(6500+) then shift to 4th and remain WOT your temps will be too high. .

I would suggest using datalogger instead.

Yes & no, it depends who you talk to. EGT is better then nothing but you can still have a bad tune & your egt's will look ok. Get a logger, thats the best method

You can't compare temp values from car to car. Numerous factors come into the equation. Where the probe is located, what type/brand of probe you have, ect.... What you really want to do is install the probe and guage and get a baseline reading. Then you can play with your boost and fuel levels and keep an eye on your guage now that you have a baseline value for your specific vehicle with your specific equiptment. Your baseline value from car to car is not always going to be equivelant. And as the others have said, its not a very effective tuning tool, more of a safety precaution for your investment.
