HAHA, I just had to replace a gasket and vacume lines on my EGR today... let me tell you, it can be a PITA if you dont know how to fenagle your hands into some very tight spaces.

In any case, the best way to get to it includes...

-Removing your battery/hold down and tray
-Removing the upper intercooler piping (stock S pipe)
-Intake boot (already had mine off doing boost leak checks.
-Any strut tower bars you may have installed
-IAC connector

This isnt so bad, just have to know how to do it... the EGR is located directly under the trottle body, and a little towards the intake manifold. There are two vacume lines going to the EGR, make sure you rememeber/mark them before you take them off... There are two 12mm (If I recall correctly) bolts holding it on. Be sure not to lose them or drop them. If you do, they will most likely fall to the ground, but just dont take the chance.... make sure your local parts store has the gasket in stock BEFORE you attempt to replace the EGR. For me, they are hard to find, so I made my own.

In any case, the first time I did it, it took me nearly an hour to get it off, the second time, took me less than 20min from start to finish. Just take your time.

If you found this useful, I would appreciate a reputation point :)

Then all I can suggest is to get a logger. You will need to check your timing, knock, etc...

It could be a bad Cam Angle Sensor. But, a problem like that it very hard to diagnose over the internet.

Another thing you can try is to check your fuel pressure. This could also be the culprit of a lazy fuel pump or a clogged filter/line. Does the car rev or drive normaly if you apply gradual throttle? Does the problem only happen when you mash it?
