2G EGR solenoid hose?

i guess from that diagram I can just unhook the line.

That hose goes to the EGR valve, don't just disconnect it. There is vacuum diagram under the hood. If you want to disconnect it look at the taboo vacuum diagram. If you just disconnect it you will have a vacuum leak, and the car will run terrible.

what is that stuff circled in green in this pic? I don't have that stuff under the hood.

It looks like the hard piping that lays vertical behind the intake mani hooking up the charcoal canister and what not.
