I have a 95 GSX. OBD1 but I have noticed a few things wired into the ECU that I haven't seen before (a relay mounted under radio, in line fuse, an OBD2 plug, and some type of auto computer controller. Some stuff may be factory but I'm not sure because it's my first 95 and my first GSX. Never seen it on the other maybe 15 Eclipses I've owned.
 
Yes. And I thought since it was 95 it was OBD1

Looks like it's a fuse for the box in the first picture.

**Hint - I found those very quick and easy by searching the part number on each item. It usually starts with MB/MR/etc.

And yes, traditionally '96 was the first year for cars to switch to OBD II, but the start of the 2g Eclipse was when Mitsubishi switched so your '95 has OBD II.
 
Yea I started to search the numbers on the box but was working on the car. Thought I might find a more secure answer here instead of possible getting multiple different answers when you search things like that.
 
Yea I was searching ECU stuff because it looked like it was wired into the ECU. I had the same problem had tons of wires that did not go to anything that I could tell. But that one looked like was going into the EUC so I left it alone until I found out what it was. I just knew I haven't seen it on any of my others before. (So it's basicly just for keyless entry?)

Thanks man I feel stupid now. Just didn't want to start un plugging stuff before I knew what it was.
 
Why would you unplug anything? Is any of that causing you a problem? Are you having any electrical problem? A quick check in a FACTORY manual would have revealed all of this to you in seconds. I saw no problem in your original post. Were any of those other cars 2g or turbo?
 
I got the car for $600 it has 79,000 miles on it. They thought it had a blown head gasket and it did have a transmission problem. They just let it sit for about 6 years so I bought it and pulled the motor and trans out and went through the motor to replace all the gaskets and stuff from sitting. Hoses were like jello so I just played it safe and redone everything.

The transmission should be fixed in a few weeks. But yes all the others were 2g only 2 GSTs, one 420A but is now boosted. But they were all 97 and up. The two GST Eclipses were 96 and none of them had that box or relay. So I was unsure of it. And they had tons of wires under the dash. My guess was all some kind of aftermarket alarm system. Pulled all of that out and no problems still ran fine.

I was just curious on the relay and box that I haven't seen on the others. And threw me off on the OBD 2 port because I thought it was OBD 1 car.
