Ok here's the deal I have a 90 Eagle Talon TSi AWD with a GM 3in MAF and MAF translator, and the mod list says its chipped for 850cc injectors.

My question is this mean I have a EPROM ECU since its chipped?

If it is an EPROM ECU then I am gonna save a few bucks and get DSMLink v3 lite ASAP. I don't like having car with so much potential with all the work that's done to it and not being able to dial it in precisely to get the most out of it.

I will have more questions to come about DSM's, I am reading and learning everyday, stuff I didn't know before I have learned now. It's been hard trying to make the jump from Subaru that I spent almost 5yrs working with.

Most likely but you should open the case to know for sure. Please fill your profile out for future help.
 
yeah sorry about the profile I thought i filled it out. I did it just now but being as tired as I am I just ran it all into one section. What am I looking for when I open the case?

Before you buy DSMLink look at your other options. There is other solutions to tuning your car that will save you some money. One tuning program I suggest is open port by Tactrix. That set up has free software; the expense is in the cord that is needed to plug into the car's ECU. The set up will cost you in the ball park of $200. Here is a link to their web site: http://www.tactrix.com/

I'm assuming that you have an ECU with EPROM from possibly a GSX :)

Please watch your posts. The only flashable ECU for the DSM is the 98/99 black case ECU. The OP could attempt to wire in an Evo8 ECU but that's all up to him to run this type of tuning.

Hopefully you meant to say to use Jackal/Ostrich with DS-Map.

I have had a few friends go with that in their subarus. I honestly did like the way it operated compared to others. I also don't wanna rewire to a evo 8 ecu.

Thanks for pointing that out I had heard about the 98/99 ecus being flashable. I don't even wanna attempt to in a evo 8 ecu as i am way to lazy to do that and on top of that I hate wiring.

Now out of curiosity what is/ how good is the Jackle/Ostrich with DS-Map? is it more cost friendly compared to the dsm link?

I wanna get this right just so i know... In the list it says the eclipse.. If the car has eprom it will work. Right??
