2G ECU questions

Okay so I think my ECU is messed up. Reason I am thinking this is because my car shut off on me and i traced it to the injectors stop firing(they still test good and are brand new also MFI relay is good and have fuel pressure behind them)

anyway i tested the pins on the ecu and they all work except for the pins that say they are for the injectors i cant get any sort of signal to come from them when im cranking the car..

So does this sound like a ecu problem or something else I pulled the ECU and looked at the circuit board and everything looks fine (nothing broken or unconected)

also, i am pretty confused on what kind of ecu i can replace it with does it have to be out of a 97 FWD manual turbo or will any turbo model ECU work??? I looked on ebay and cant find any ecu's with the same part number as mine MD335287 so im not even really sure where to get another ECU other than from the dealer for 900$ and im not 100% possitive this is my problem..

Please someone help me im getting sick of not being able to drive my car.

You can get an ECU from www.rockauto.com for a lot less than the dealer, or another option is to have yours inspected and repaired. There are places that will do that.

Take out the ecu and expect it. Look for leaks and burnt spots. If you find out it is bad look on ebay a company is selling rebuilt ones for $200 + core.

A 97-99 turbo ecu will be a direct replacement for you, fwd, awd, std, or auto doesn't matter they will all work the same. A 95-95 ecu will work as well but the firing order is different so you would have to swap plug wires 1 with2 & 3 with 4 & the CAS is electrically inverted so the injectors will fire in a different order, which you can't do anything about. This shouldn't make a big difference in driveability and would be fine if you just borrowed someones 95-96 ecu to see if thats your issue.

Either take your ecu out and inspect it or have it inspected and repaired by a local shop. Or look online for a 1999 ecu which if I remember right will work perfectly.

As far as I know you should be able to do it the problem is the injector harness isn't physically long enough to swap them. So I guess if you went to all the trouble to lengthen the harness it could be done.

Shouldn't be a problem if solder and shrink wrap won't somehow tweak the signal in a bad way.
