I have a '91 Talon TSi AWD automatic with turbo. I'm needing to buy a new ECU and would like some clarification on which ones I'm able to use.
From my understanding:
•The difference between 1g and 2g does matter
•The difference between naturally aspirated and turbocharged does matter
•The difference between AWD and FWD does not matter
•The difference between standard and automatic depends on your setup
The previous owner has put 450cc injectors as an upgrade from the stock 390cc, and I haven't checked yet but I'm going to assume he changed the fuel pressure regulator as well. As a result, he put a '90 turbo s/t ECU (part MD145903) in the car. If research serves me correct, this means that pins 6 and 14 were swapped as would be needed to put a '90 ECU in a 91-94 car.
I have more details on this in my build thread, post #10 to be specific. I've checked the diagnostic port and got a constant reading which would mean the ECU is being reported as faulty.
Anyway, some clarification on which ECUs I'm able to use would be appreciated. Thanks.
