1G Questions about ECU

well, apparentely my ecu is dead, When I got the car from my uncle, it had a jet computer in it...I dont know what the specs or anything on it are, I dont know if it has any kind of warranty on it, or if i can even send it back... So my question is, should I try and get this jet computer fixed, or just try and get ahold of a eprom ecu somewhere, and go from there... also, which year dsms have a eprom ecu, and how can i tell the difference in that and a regualr one... but as far as the ecu goes, I dont know what is causing it to do this, but it is getting no signal to the computer, is what my mechanic said, he also said he tried it another shop also to see if that it was just his computer thing... so, i dunno, but just really all i need to know, is try and save the jet, or get a eprom...

Any 91-94(which would work in your 91) DSM could have an eprom ecu.

but according to this the 93's didn't have an EPROM.

As far as jet vs eprom it probably depends on how easy it would be to fix your Jet and what you plans are for the furture. Like if you plan on getting dsmlink you might just wanna get an eprom ecu.

Thanks for that,
But, i just got off the phone with jet, and they say, i cant get it reapired, he told me to check the caps, and that is probably what it is, so, is there a company that can replace the caps, or is that something that i would have to pay someone off here to do... also what is a link to a place that i can get the caps if i need them...
