ECMlink ECMLink cable?

So all of a sudden I cant get link to connect to my mac book. my questions is if the green light on the usb cable should be on when i connect it to the laptop?
I cant remember when it goes on.

The LED will flash when it's plugged into the USB port. That's the only time it'll be on.

it only flashes when trying to connect. Is that what you mean?
Or should it flash as soon as i plug it in?

It should only flash when you plug the cable into the USB port.
