My dad Chuck T. of HARDCORE HOTRODS of Rome, N.Y. wants to know if anyone has successfully completed this swap? I wanna see their pics as proof. Cause he in my opinion after researching the internet day and night he seems to be the first to do it. So if you know or have seen anyone who has done it i wanna see pics and date of swap. I don't dream about an engine that I can't visually see something that's wrong with it without dropping the front subframe. That swap is entirely silly, your mating something with more torque to a trans that is known for chewing gears at even 300ftlbs, I say congrats.
 
I always wanted to do this with a diamente. Jack did a 6 speed swap in his diamante but never got the TT motor in it. Would be more practical and usefull in my opinion in a diamante.

Anyways, good luck with a swap. How much more does that motor weigh compared to the 4g63?

No one is hating on you, yeah its a different swap that definitely takes mechanical/fabrication ability, but you're not going to achieve power numbers that we "dream about" with a 4g63. So understand that.

Key word here is "started" because I have yet to see any driving videos or idling of yours or it actually mounted in the chassis. So until your car is running/driving its not a COMPLETED swap.

The purpose here isnt to set world records on the dyno or 1/4 mi times. He's not trying to find a superior alternative to a 4g63. He already has 2 of them.

This is a project for the pure satisfaction of having a 3.0 6g72 TT 1g DSM. Anyone can bolt on parts from ebay and slowboyracing. This is unique. So ease up. :cool:

Regardless, the video shown was a car that was actually driving,running etc. Even if it was a 6a12 variant or a 6g72. I'm sure if he was capable of installing one, he probably could have handled the other one's installation as well.

It is definitely more unique than your average 6bolt into a 2g, and a very interesting swap. But like i've said maybe 2 or 3 times already, he went about the thread all wrong. That's all i'm saying.

The pics alone are good enough evidence that its a work in progress, and not a job completed.

Who cares if someone else successfully did it? He wanted to know if it has been done. So I guess the answer is "yes". Either way, another 6g72 swap is on its way.
 
Just think about it.. 500hp in a 4banger or 500 in a 6 cylinder.. Tranny has a longer gear ratio. That looks like a first gen 6g72 though. Non forged internals, 5 speed.
 
I bought my Talon because of the 4G63. Its capable of everything i want. My opinion, your swap is pointless. I agree with everyone on here you started this thread all wrong, you think your the only one in here with mechanical skills. Hello its a DSM forum. 99.9% of people in here have mechanical skills. Without videos or more pics i say FAIL!

I have no idea what you're trying to prove here.

3.0 liters may be 50% bigger than a 2.0 4g63, but as you might find out, that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be 50% faster, or make 50% more power. It DOES mean that it's going to be heavier. And since the 6g72 has a very small, niche aftermarket it means that upgraded parts for that engine are going to be a hell of a lot more expensive than any for the 4g63.

You came here asking if anyone has completed the swap yet. Ray Peters has. But for now, you haven't yet. So let's leave it at that. Your question is answered. And I don't think anyone here dreams about this swap at all. Most people would consider it pretty pointless.
 
Its definently a unique swap. Mods are cheap, Throw 2 evo3 16g's and supporting mods on there and have a 600whp with a way stronger trans. If you can get the motor and trans for 1500 I think its a great alternative to buying a built trans and forged motor for at least twice the price of the swap.
 
I saw the video of Rays purple 2g is that car AWD You can not really tell from the video. Does anyone have a link to a site. That is a 2.0 v6 tt dohc even he states that on youtube. So he is the 1fst v6 is it AWD. Mine is 6g72 tt 3.0 awd jdm gto motor.

And how is doing a swap for the pure satisfaction of doing a unique build be automatically deemed pointless? Hello. It IS a DSM forum, and the vehicle here IS a DSM. And there will be more pics coming so relax. Cant "FAIL" a work in progress.
 
This dude needs to loose the arrogance. Something we only dream of? Get real dude, there are plenty of people on this site including myself with the ability to do this swap. Question is why would we want to?

I think the problem here is that the man doing the work is not the one were talking to. His son is on here bragging about it like he did it all himself. How old are you anyways mky101?
 
Im actually disappointed in the response from you guys... The aftermark is actually quite well for 3000/stealths. The weight transfer would actually be BETTER... more weight on the front wheels so you don't squat the rear,and bring the front up and spin the front tires.

Honestly, we get it. You want to be the first to do something like this to inflate your already saturated ego. Whether you finish this or not, not many people are going to respect you with the way you conduct yourself and your inability to form simple sentences.

You keep sticking up for this guy. Obviously the swap is a waste of time and money. It is POINTLESS. If we DSMer's benefited anything from this it would be a popular mod. This guy just thinks he is Jesus for doing this swap and that is not the case at all. I nor any DSMer i know dreams of this swap. Again, FAIL!:notgood:
