ebay O2 housing

good afternoon, has anybody here install a ebay O2 housing on a 2g? I just did but i find that the O2 housing doesnt bolt up to the downpipe. Does anyone have any ideas about this install, and one of the holes where its suppose to bolt up to the downpipe is hard to get to.

You never know when you get some items off ebay, hit or miss. i never known anyone to use one, especially when oem ones are cheap enough and fit.

I always have to fight with my 2g o2 housing on my 1g to be honest. If your down pipe still has a flex section you might have some luck if you unbolt it at the back so you can line up the o2 housing, the back end of the down pipe is usually easier to maneuver.

it just seems to be a bit short, i was told i should remove complete exhaust system and start from the front and hook up downpipe, than work my way to the back

That's just about the same issue I have with my 2g housing, and I don't have studs to help line it up Just unbolting the downpipe in the back should give you enough wiggle room though

Thats what you get with chinese garbage. No quality control and probably made by a 12 year old kid. I bought one a couple years ago and the flange was warped. Had to belt sand it just to get it to seal.

Id take a properly ported 2g o2 over the chinabay stuff.

Ive seen that "chinese garbage" out last alot of other name brand things before. Heck there is a guy i know personally has nothing but ebay turbos on all his race cars and they hold up just as long as name brand parts also.

And for the OP just losen up the downpipe and bolt the o2 housing on it loosly then bolt it all up to the turbo them slowly tighten the housing down on the down pipe. Or just get one off of ebay also thats what i am going to do is run full ebay exhaust .

The ebay downpipes fit just as poorly as the 02 housings.

I bought a couple, the first one I bought fit fine, no issues, then when I bought my old 2g the o2 bung was welded on a terrible angle and the only way I could fit my o2 sensor was to dent my water pipe.
You win some you lose some.

Mine fits fine but using nuts and bolts made it hard to install. I ended up welding the nuts on the o2 housings flange for the downpipe. Piece of cake now.

My downpipe has a flex section and the pipe slip fits to the cat so I can rotate it. That probably helps solve any issue with the fit being off.

I have ran the o2 housing. On mine the flange was not welded on perfectly center causing a quarter inch lip on the inside. I ended up griding it down and smoothing it out to help with flow. I thought about using the welded nut method but I didnt have a welder so i just used a tap that fit the bolt holes and that worked out well. Its not a bad part but but I can only imagine the heat that thing transfers to the alternator vs the cast with the stock heat shield. I did wrap mine because of this concern with some heat wrap from advance.
