3" eBay o2 housing

I'll pitch in, got this from ebay for $55 mine is recirculated. The pipe is real stainless but the flanges are cheap metal. Easy way to tell is check with a magnet. True stainless wont attract. The flanges wernt perfectly flat it might have worked but i dont want any exhaust leaks since my wideband is in the downpipe. I grinded the flanges to port match my turbo and noticed shortly after it was rusting. For the price i dont care i have a full machine shop at work. Get a belt sander and die grinder and you should be good, oh yeah make sure the bolt holes are big enough i had to drill mine out bigger to fit my 68hta.

EDIT: First pic shows how uneven the flange is on flat bar. I didnt have a perfect way of measuring true flatness besides using a straight flat ruler :-/

I got a one with a wastegate dump for around $65 about 9 years ago on eBay and its hasn't rusted yet however just last month the weld spot where the turbo flange meet the O2 housing pipe cracked open and its pretty significant. But for the price and they years I've got on it... I'm looking for a new one. My concern is that over the 9 years since I got mine, how will fitment be? Mine bolted up PERFECT; with the some slight issue with the OEM o2 having a tight fit between the bung and the water pipe.

I bought an O2 housing from ebay and even a tubular manifold when I first got my car(about 9 years ago). For the price it's worth it. These ebay parts lasted for about 5 years before the weld split on the O2 housing and my manifold cracked prbly due to wrapping it. Never had any rust or warpage issues.

That's for the input guys. The only difference between the one I'm looking at and you guys is the one I'm looking at is 3 inch and the end is v band, I'm more curious on if it will meet up with my downpipe or be off.

If you gotta weld a v band onto your downpipe anyway, you could move it around some should they not line up right. If it is off it shouldn't be by much, there's only so much room down there with the alt and the oil pan etc.

Do u have a pic?
Here's the pics from the eBay post.

That most definately will not fit. The length to where the v-band connects is too long. U may need to cut and weld a flange for your downpipe.
Yeah I know that, but besides that. It actually looks about the point where by downpipe necks up to 3" so it may be a really simple mod. I was really just curious if that down spout it has is about the same place the down pipe would be, like I said I'd make it recirculated and I'd modify my down pipe with a v band, just to make it straight 3"

I have the exact same housing on my hx40, all I did was machine the flanges flat because they came warped. I used a flat file to true the flanges. The v-band diameter on the housing is smaller than other v-bands on the market. I just ordered a set of 3in v-bands and ground them down to fit the o2 housing. Next I cut off the 2 bolt flange on my down pipe and welded the v- band on. It's a tight fit, but everything mates together.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear, thank you!

I ended up buying it for like 25 bucks from eBay, the first thing I noticed is the angle where it would meet the downpipe, it's not quite straight down. I would also love some pictures of your setup please.

I bought a recirculated for my E316G. Like everyone said, machine the flanges flat and grind out the holes to actually match the pipe size and you will be fine. Much better than spending $400 on the same part from somewhere else.

This is what i bought. Ground both flanges and cleaned out the connection where the two pipes meet. I coulda ground them down a little better but it sealed ok with a thicker gasket.

I can get some pictures of it on the car if you need them, but it will have to be tonight as it is snuggled up in the garage for the winter.

I have that as well and I have no complaints. I did have the flatten to big side though.

Yes, i could almost fit a dime under it on a flat surface when i bought it.

Seems to be decent materials though and good welds.

I was way off, I'm in the wrong discussion LOL. I was thinking everyone was talking about a vband hotside to a 2 bolt downpipe, I thought you where using this piece to go from vband to the regular 2 bolt downpipe. I'm currently using the same piece as in the picture
