I was wondering if the h beam rods that say NON- STANDARD are same length as stock/oem rods, mainly because I found some for 300. I'm rebuilding a 420a , putting a new crankshaft ,king bearings, and trying to figure out if I really need forged internals. If maybe use h beams with stock pistons to run 8 psi. Which I'm not going to do until after the engine is broke in and a save some money for the turbo set up.

So basically my question is h beam rods with stock/oem pistons to keep original compression possible? Good idea?

Eagle was just blowing out their stock of long-rod 420A stuff on eBay - they certainly are different than stock and will require custom pistons to work properly. If you’re going through the trouble of building an engine with forged rods, spend the extra $400-500 on forged pistons and do it once.
