E85 car stalls when coming to a stop. Idles very poorly.. how to fix?

I have DSM Link and a 1999 GSX powered by E85. The car idles poorly. Its cold out (40F) so I know that is some of it. Before the previous owner disappeared he mentioned that I should turn up the fuel at low RPMs to compensate. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? The car idles poorly unless its nice and warm and even then its still seems rough. The next question is how do I use DSMlink to change the fuel if I wanted to increase the flow at lower RPMs?

Have you checked out the ecmlink forums post a log for us to see, could be number of things relating to the idle issues, alone. What are your fuel trims?

Forgive me, I'm new to DSM cars. I just happened to buy one that was already built. So do you want me to start it and idle it when I do a log or go out and drive it?

Its ok we all have to start somewhere its how we learn everyone knows a bit of this and that, somethings I know and others I don't but familiar with just about everything go for a spin or do a idle log for all of us to see.

When you log take a 5 minute idle log to begin with. Let the car get to full operating temp beforehand or you're wasting your time.

What are your afr's when its running poorly? Usually with ethanol the colder it get the more you need. Add some fuel on startup and see if it smooths out

Sounds like a temp sensor has failed, and this will cause these idle problems.

I have here my settings file and two logs. I don't have access to the forums on ECMLink. I wrote to the help on the site, but haven't heard anything back yet. I do have an ECMLink account though.

I've included three files. The first file "original settings.ecm" is how the car is configured right now.

At Idle warmed up- this is the car after warming it up to normal operating temperature. It was warmer out today so it was idling about 800rpm which is higher than normal, normal is about 600rpm.

Drive until engine quit - The car will stall out if I'm crusing along and push in the clutch. So when I go to brake I push the clutch in and then hold the brake when I'm turning for example so I can downshift at the same time or when I get to a stop light. However the car will drop the tach down to 200rpm and sometimes will recover back up to 600/800 rpm or quite often it will stall out. So in this situation I drove from my house down the road to a creamie stand and when I drove into the driveway it stalled out with the clutch pushed in. The only way to prevent this is to keep the car in gear and to allow it to go down about 1200/1500 rpm and then push in the clutch and normally it will work otherwise I can bounce the throttle at the same time and it might recover.

Thank you for any help you can give me. The problem seems to be in the low RPMS. This thing is the most powerful car I've ever been in esp when boost kicks in at 5k rpms. To be honest my first drive with this car was last night

I looked at my fuel settings in ECM but it doesn't appear that I can change the fuel under 2000 RPM other than changing the global deadtime (according to the demo that I watched on ecmlink yesterday).

David[DOUBLEPOST=1413069129][/DOUBLEPOST]There is one other thing. I'm getting a jerking motion when I'm just driving along at like 45 miles an hour without accelerating. I notice on the graphs that my AFRatioEst is changing when I get this.

I also notice when I let off of the gas and press the clutch in my "OldAFRatioEst" spikes through the roof while my AFRatioEst goes from 14.7 to 15.5. I think my car is leaning out and then stalling out! Tho I'm not sure how to deal with it... [DOUBLEPOST=1413069498][/DOUBLEPOST]Also interesting, the fuel flow goes to zero when my throttle is in zero.... Should there always be some gas making it idle???

I think I solved my own problem There was a "coast idle" that was set to 0rpm. I sent it to be 900 rpm, now it doesn't stall. Plus I gave it a little more fuel since its much colder out so that it wouldn't run lean which increased my AFR from 14.7 to 13.7.
