just started happening a day ago. when i coming to a stop i put the clutch down and come to a stop the car stalls out right away. i start it up and it drives away normally after that, but every time i come to a stop the car just stall out everytime. is the idle air control valve most likely the cause. no check enigne light comes on.

This used to happen to me quite often on my 1g. Check your FIAV, when coming to a stop it controls the engine RPM that the car is supposed to be at during De-acceleration. If the FIAV is clogged it will cause the car to stall when coming to a stop..

when i first start it up it idle around 700-800 which is a good idle. but when i start driving and finally come to a stop it just stalls right out. can i just purchase a fiav or would i have to get a whole new throttle body. i thought it would be the IAC?

IAC works at Standing Idle. It will retain idle while.. Say.. Sitting at a stop light. The FIAV controls the Idle during deacceleration or while your rolliong and not applying gas.

You would be best to clean it before trying to replace anything.

The IAC is what catches your RPMS when coming to a stop, not the FIAV.

The only purpous for the FIAV is to allow the RMPs @ Idle to be higher then normal when the car is cold. It holds the idle higher to warm the car up faster.

There is a video on how to check it. I lost it tho LOL
Just pull it and have someone turn the key to ACC. If the little plunger moves in and out then its still good.

And yes if you have your BOV vented it can also cause stalling.

+3 on the Bov for the Stall thing.

But. for the idle issue, it makes me think that you have just a Leak, which your idle is not constant.
Also if you say that is 1000rpm and once you push the clutch, it goes down to 800rpm, MMMMMMMmmmmm
I would think that you might got CW.

Have you check the Crank play?.

This is gonna sound like a dumb question but Im gonna ask because it happens so often is your BOV resirced
I should have offered this up when I first posted. I am recirculating. I know you had to ask. I have spent dozens of hours cleaning out throttle bodies FIAVs and IACs to try to solve this problem. I am still not able to keep it from stalling when I am slowing down. I have tried other throttle bodies with sensors from the junk yard with no success.

Leak
I bought a gauge and pressure tested the intake system. I found only minor leaks and plugged them. no change. Then I turned it over to a shop to see if they could find a leak. They said it held good pressure. I have not personally tested it since the new BOV so I will do that again.

CW
This issue DOES seem to happen when the clutch is depressed. Crank Walk, no. I only have 60 miles on the new crank, which is machined within +/-0.008”. However, I did drop in a heavy clutch, Competition Stage 4. Could extra pressure on the crank cause this problem? Why do you suggest CW? Could push in the clutch cause a drop in idle?

Was this problem every solved? It’s happening to me now
