I just install my evo III 16g, I took it out to do some pulls and the spool is crap. It feels like a leak, the turbo will build 10 or 12 psi with no boost controler and like 18-19 with a greddy pro-fect ebc all the way turned up. Also I get a bit of a lean pop every other pull or so. Nothing comes back i my logging to show whats going on. I have a friend that says the car might not have the airflow left to run a 16g, however the 14b that was on it yesterday run great and pulled hard. Once in while the 14b would pull like 10psi instead on 12psi with my boost controler off. Please help as I'm becoming VERY frusterated with this.

Check the wastegate arm and make sure its not stuck. I had that problem when I installed me new turbo. I moved it back and forth by hand about 10 times and havn't had a problem since.

how are your afr's looking in the log, also double check all you vacume lines, and also look for possible pre turbo exhuast leaks

Sounds like your actuator got smashed and is allowing the flapper to hang open a little. Swap the actuators from your 14B on to this turbo and see if the problem goes away.

My a/f is around 11.5:1 to 12.2:1 on any given pull and is crusing a/f is about 14:1. Im going out to the grage to zip-tie everything and taking a look at injector insulators.
