!Bought an EF hatch with a JDM GSR swap. And took it to show my mom and step-dad. My step-dad looks under the hood, points to the intake, and says "Looks like ya got a little blower too."
That's cute.Ive never seen "remarkable" results from a compound set up. Quicker spool for the larger turbo used is the only advantage. Ive seen it on dsm's and cavaliers and the numbers are always sub par for even the smaller turbo they use in the set up. But hey it looks cool when you pop your hood at a meet
(the previous owner of this car tried it and ran some sick 16 second passes at 130 mph). The car also went a couple mph faster than it did on a single GT4294 at the same boost so there was no loss in power.HIM: This your talon?
ME: Yeah? (Obviously...I am driving it)
@ 97-GST your car looks pretty stock other some wheels, fmic, and exhuast. Want to see an engine pic.
Also the Saturn ION Redlines are not laugable... and if he swapped from SC to Turbo I would be willing to be that saturn will make you piss your self. I've test driven one with slightly over 300whp and it scarred the piss out of me going that fast in a FWD.

niceeewith my 92 tsi fwd i made it to the shootout which is 420 miles from door to door on a single tank of fuel. when i pulled into the gas station. it took A FULL tank. it was on fumes pulling in. that comes to 28mpg. Then on the second trip with my car and my friends 92 tsi awd following along the way we both got 28 and 29mpg. then last year on a seeping headgasket in my fwd i managed to get 31mpg. some people may remember my primered fwd with the writing in the windows about the blown head gasket. I had loose change donated by people at the track that sunday. the wing had about 2 dollars on it.
someone probably beat me to it, but this is pretty funny..

And now drives a crappy Lexus that he's going to 'turbo'. 25 PSI on a T25. This tubo will either die in a day or be pushing hot air.
Hmm, I'd say my setup produces better results than either turbo could produce on it's own. I've never seen an 8 second 50 trim. And a T6 1.32 S475 probably wouldn't spool before the 1000' without a 300 shot(the previous owner of this car tried it and ran some sick 16 second passes at 130 mph). The car also went a couple mph faster than it did on a single GT4294 at the same boost so there was no loss in power.
But otherwise you're right, it does also look cool when you pop your hood at a meet.
Still waiting to see ANYTHING spectacular come from a compound set up. Other then ooh ahh when you pop the hood. Im not a believer, pauls car looks promising but so far the numbers arent anything a 60-1 couldnt do on its own. Your car was the only one in the quick 16 with a compound and what was your fastest of the night? From what i remember sheps evo ran faster then you and he wasnt even in the quick 16. Your car is fast, thats forsure but the same time was reached with a 35r in an awd with a real body. And arent you spraying?
WTF do you have against Paul and compound setups in general? It seems that you pop up in every possible thread (either on topic or not) and start bashing the idea...even after he has posted numbers, dyno charts, etc.
Performance aside, just the fact that these guys are doing what they are and accomplishing ANYTHING is amazing.
BTW - Where is this 60-1 you mention that flows 75lbs/min and hits 40 psi at 4400 RPM, with a slipping clutch and warped head? I'd love to see it; I bet it's a beast.
Nothing against his set up at all. I asked alot of questions on his thread, that doesn't seem like bashing to me. Its pretty interesting. His run on the dyno though was 600hp which sounds about right for a 60-1 near max. Btw 600whp is not 75lbs/min. I hope he can squeeze more out, id like to see some impressive numbers for all that time and money involved. If he can lay down 750whp with that exact set up, no major changes, i will buy one myself haha.
Just a little more lulz to that post...I like how he calls the Evo a real body...now don't get me wrong Evo owners, because I love Evos and they are hot but...
The 1G and 2G DSM bodies are more aerodynamic in their design AND they don't have enough body roll to be used as the flattening press on a steamroller.

It was a 2g that ran a 8.8 on a 35r.

Little off topic, but....
