I've got one, this guy on facebook was trying to convince me that anything heavier than a stock pressure plate will make your car crankwalk.

Then he tried to tell me this:

"I use the same exact pressure plate as stock and its rated for 600hp 500 ft/lbs. street disc. I have a guy that makes me custom clutches."
:ohdamn:

I stopped arguing with him after he said that. I guess he must be right because he has a guy that make him custom clutches with stock pressure plates. ROFL

But you did know that when you press the clutch in, it shifts the crank a tiny bit. People think that extended use of the clutch (Sitting in a Drive-thru with the clutch pressed in instead of neutral) will advocate the wear on the Thrust Bearing.

There's all kinds of little tidbits that people believe help contribute to Crankwalk.

Yea, I tried explaining that to him. He was so convinced that it WILL make your motor crankwalk. LOL He didn't want to hear anything about all the people who have 2600 and 2900s that don't have crankwalk.
 
Does UTI just suck or what? Cause.. that's probably the 5th post like that where they mention they're enrolled at UTI and ask a retarded question.
its pretty awesome living right down the street from uti, the kids there think that just because they go to an auto school that they know more then anybody else
i've met about 3 maybe 4 people there that seemed like they knew what they were talking about
the other 90% are just going there because they had nothing else going on
you get some pretty good conversations out of them though

me: thats pretty clean man anything done to the motor?
him: just got it painted and some 18's put on it, oh and it has and intake in exhaust for now
my thoughts: pretty sure paint and rims aren't mods...

him: oh yeah i'm going to twin turbo it, i go to uti so it shouldn't be that hard (my boss had to walk to the back so he could laugh)
me (just messing with him now): oh that's going to be such a beast man. how much boost are you going to run on each turbo?
him: only 12 per turbo for now i'll build it up down the road
me: thats sounds like a pretty mean v6

its sad, but there is actually quite a big following of homebrew turbo kits for the 3.8 mustangs. Actually alot of guys that do go twins use, guess what, MHI 14b or 16g's. And that 3.8 isnt totally retarded weak, there was a guy on one of the forums i frequented that was putting around 13-14psi through a 4.2 stroker (but still stock non-forged internals, iirc the 4.2 crank/rods came from a F150 or Ranger maybe?) and a set of worked over heads.

i would bet my motor that the guy that came into my work had noooo clue what he was talking about though, i'll respect anything that's fast regaurdless of its make but he had a mostly stock v8 with chrome 18's

i use to really like mustangs but lately i've developed a hate for anyone who tells me how awesome theres is. don't get me wrong i'd kill to have a saleen or a cobra but i don't really see alot of done up mustangs. just ones with exhaust that think they're fast. i see them as the "honda" of v8's
 
My friend has a N/T 94 talon and he thinks cars with a catback is full exhaust. I explain to him that its not but it never gets through to him....

My old roommate, who is an awesome dude, loved his V6 automatic Mustang to death. He has like every bolt on possible for it. Full K&N intake, dual exhaust, even this stupid thing you put between the intake piping that spins like a fan for "more air flow". I never had the heart to tell him it was a POS. Although my dad's friend has a 2003 Saleen Mustang with 10,000 miles on it. It's amazing.
 
I honestly hate fords and I'm starting to hate chevy's as well. DSM or nothing IMO.

My friend has a 2008 mustang with a 400 modifyed under the hood. All motor no forced induction. He goes and tells me this

HIM: your car looks like a toy
ME: when in the right hands its not a toy by no means

HIM: wanna race when i get mine running again
ME: no
HIM: y not
ME: i know im gonna loose as i helped you build the 400 mod in there
HIM: wanna take me up to west branch automotive
ME: for what dude
HIM: parts to get my stang running again
ME: I couldnt stop laughing after that and i spit mountain dew all over in my tool drawer
HIM: you know it dude
ME: your ford breaks down more than my DSM
HIM: i know. i want to get a car like yours. they look fun as helll

He lives on a dirt road in the country. After leaving some 30ft + peel marks when we made it to pavement hes holding onto the edge of his seat litterally saying HOLY F#%& THIS 4 BANGER HAS SOME B@LLS. The clutch in my talon starts slipping after 3700 RPM's so I cant get all over the rest of the RPM's that I should get to. LOL.
 
Damn, and so many people tell me I'm an idiot because of my very strongly voiced opinion that having a degree or a piece of paper doesn't mean you are smart, just that you can study enough to pass a test.
 
Me too. When I was in elementary school I was reading books (and actually READING them) on electronics and cars, and then once I was old enough to procure a car, there is where I got my first hand experience in them. Electronics I was doing first hand since I was reading the books.

My friend took his Audi A4 to the dealer to get checked out. It was bucking every once and a while. They told him it needed new engine mounts and a "pressure valve (verbatim)." They also replaced his wipers without asking him and charged him for it and refused to give him his money back for them. So they replaced those parts and the bucking didn't stop. He was on the phone with them multiple times to ask the mechanic what this "pressure valve" was and he had no idea. And the VW/Audi mechanics are supposed to go through harder schooling than some UTI or ATC place. Pretty sad.

I used to hang out with a bunch of domestic guys (mostly Cobra/Camaro/Vette guys but we had Mustang GT tagalongs) and the funny thing about GT owners is when they talk shit about a civic with fart can and pep-boys intake, and they act like their K&N FIPK and Flowmaster weld-ons are so much better. Hello, McFly......:ohdamn:

a 400 what? 400ci carb'd engine? 400hp modded n/a 4.6L thats there already?
 
It's a 428 cobra engine. Thats pretty much all I know about it, and that he dumped a crap load of money into it. Its his daily driver. I know and Ill do it before anyone else does it. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Look at the prices of gas and look at that gas hog.

I'm not a ford fan in any way shape or forum. Its a mustang with a fully built high compression engine. Its really loud but its a good loud. He keeps replacing the distributor cup and the u-joints. The button in the distributor keeps breaking. We cant find the problem as its all brand new and we have tryed replacing the whole distributor assembly.
