Guy just bought a GSX, after owning a 420A. Alot to learn....

Before the convo, he was telling me the mods it has, and what he wants it to have.(Seeing as im going to be his DSM mechanic)


Him: You know someone with a turbo or what

Me: All the people I know with DSM stuff are around Milwaukee. But I can get you the same turbo as me for $100. You. Wont. Regret. It.

Him: What psi would that be stock

Me: Same. 12 psi.
If you dont have a Boost controller, any turbo you put on, will be 12 psi.

Him:Why would i want it then?

Me: LOL.
Its not the amount of boost that always matters....
The amount of airflow matters too. The 14B is bigger than the T-25.
Making it move more air than the T-25 at the same boost.
You loose some Insta spool, but when it kicks, its alot harder.

Him: O alright. Is it just bolt right on. Or do i need to change stuff

Me: No.The T-25 is interchangeable with the 14B and the 16G. The 16G is the most common turbo put on our cars, but with no fuel mods, youll just mess up the motor. When you bring the car over, Ill show you that nothing needs to be changed.

Him: If you can find me one for 75. Ill buy it

Me: Probably wont be able to find one for that. But Ill ask around.

It won't always be 12 psi, it depends on wastegate pressure. a 14b stock wastegate pressure is like 8lbs.

They also arn't directly interchangable, you need a 2g install kit. The flanges are different, the outlet, and the oil feed.

Outlet meaning compressor outlet i hope

Needs j pipe, and install kit, done deal.
 
"Common" and "knowledge" as a combo pack is not common.
 
Ummm. He wants the 14B. And he will be ordering a FMIC + j-pipe. All is accounted for guys. It would be hooked back up through the BCS.

I know what needs to be done. Everything is accounted for. Ive done the T-25 to 14B swap many times before. All I need him to get is the turbo, J-pipe, and FMIC+Piping. I have all the other stuff needed.
