Dumbest things you've heard a DSMer say? :)

Guess it does fit but i wouldn't call it dumbest..., like i said i dont have a talon and i dont research talons LOL...

Theres like 5 models of eclipse and its not like the gst is called a gsx and the gsx called gsx awd...

I dont even really known the differences between the GS eclipse an RS eclipse. But why would i even care i have a gsx..

RS is base, drum brakes, manual locks, windows, etc. GS is the nicer ones with disc brakes in the rear and power everything, EXCEPT for the damn spyder came with drums to save cost:toobad:. Nothing a swap can't fix. My spyder also didn't have power mirrors but I swapped that out too before it got wrecked.

The lasers are the same: RS and RS AWD

"Hey man i couldn't help but notice your exhaust smells like running really lean and you're missing on 2 cylinders". I told him I run E85 and replied that I was still missing. I have Crower 272's...I proceeded to drive away laughing.

People here in CO are clueless. I had a Honduh guy tell me he could hear an exhaust leak in my car, likely coming from the "donut ring" between the turbo and "header".

1. I was driving my NA Spyder with flawless, bone stock exhaust.

2. Unlike the crap buckets known as Honduh's, Mitsubishi uses gaskets on the exhaust. Not rubber donuts.

3. Who the hell uses a donut ring between the turbo and exhaust manifold anyways?

I won't even get into the comments I get while filling up with E85...

Yeah, and I hear Maple seals better than Powdered. This guy used a Raspberry one obviously. Big mistake.

Should have used old fashion glazed. Stands up better to heat than maple or powdered.

However, i hear crullers work best on the pesky o2 housing/downpipe. ;)

Uhm, a donut gasket is a metal gasket that does go around an exhaust pipe that another slightly larger flange/pipe presses against.

And mistubishi does use them. My 4g blew one out and I got warranty work from mitsu, who clearly stated that was the problem was years ago, might as well have the factory fix it for free.

Of course I split hairs, you said mitsu, not DSM ;)

Although I don't want to give him any credit for possibly knowing what he was talking about, this immediately came to mind:

They have these on 2gs also, and it's metal..

I know about that civic exhaust^ but I had no idea the rings were rare. They were on all the 1Gs I've seen in person.
(Which is only 3, but still.)
LOL

LOL I was joking haha, because I just tossed mine out, I don't know what happened to it, I remember I bent it once when I was lining everything up. Wonder if thats supposed to help heat not jack up the turbo bolts.

The sealing ring is used to promote flow by reducing turbulence through the collector/inlet transition. That's why nearly all Mitsu housings have a step at the turbine inlet, which we usually just grind away when porting.

Strange things people have said while I filled up with E85 include:

"Have fun blowing your car up with that shit"

"Dude, you can't use that stuff. I put it in my truck once and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree."

"Ya know that's Bio-Diesel , right?"

Cut the guy some slack, he must be an exhaust whisperer... that should stop smelling exhaust.

Not a dsmer but i went to the track today with a 91 gtr rhd, well he didn't check his oil level before going on a 1 hr trek down to the track, made 3 runs, parked, car turned over but wouldn't catch checked oil, empty. Filled up, motor fired up after a few cranks.. Guy goes and beats on it cold to make sure everything is "okay" then bam. Knocking on heavens door for that straight 6 Lol Lesson learned for him check your oil before you go to the track. I was smart and changed mine before i went :)

I've actually had a guy come over and stop the pump emergency shutoff style shortly after I started pumping E85. He thought he was doing me a favor thinking I had made a mistake.
LOL

I also watched a guy pull up to the race gas pump at a Holiday not too far from MAPerformance. I figured his Jetta was a sleeper and he knew what he was doing until he stared at the machine trying to figure out how to change the octane.
