Dual Walbro Issue.

I just Installed the fullblown kit and I keep blowing my fuses. I have pulled the setup back out an there is not a short inside the tank. Nor is there anything wrong with the wiring to the pumps. They are fed off of the sams power source. So my question is do I need a larger fuse or should I be looking for something else? I had a 30 amp fuse in there when this problem occoured.

RRE Instructions

Per RRE in this chart, the Walbro 255 is 11~11.5 amps.

How do you have them wired? A parallel circuit would result in higher current draw.

They are wired in parallel.

wired in parallel you should be able to take one of them out of the loop. try and unplug one of them at a time and see if maybe one of the pump motors is shorted out.

Do a voltage drop test on the power wire leading to the fuel pump. You probably have a short to ground somewhere.

As it turns out one of my brand new pumps is bad.

how "new" is that kit? can you get the bad pump replaced?

Yea everything is brand new Ill just have Walbro warranty the pump. Its just a pita to remove the pumps from the assy thats all.

For future searches, make sure your filter isn't plugged and there isn't a lot of restriction in the lines. The pumps will work too hard, blowing fuses and burning out pumps.

True, I have dual wallys in the tank and they run perfectly on a 20 amp fuse. They didn't even blow it the time i pumped the fuel pressure all the way up and pegged past 100 on the gauge just to make sure there were no leaks under higher presures when i first built the fuel system.
