DSMTimes.org and 1/4 mile times list

Most everyone should know about both of these but it doesn't get updated very often. DSMtimes.org is a good place to see the fastest dsms. It doesn't work if people don't list their times or dont update with their new times. Same with the 1/4 mile times list here on this site. If you get to the track go ahead and submit your times guys

Great Topic! I agree 100% These databases are a great reference, and even better to see an average across many users. More useful too, if you have an extream one way or the other. This helps exlore the capabilities of the DSM/EVO cars.

For those who don't know about our 1/4 Times list that he's referring to, it can be found under the Member menu up in the top navigation:

Did I miss something? If I did sue me. But, it's been over a year since the dsmtimes.org page has been updated. I submitted my new time last October and it never went up.......I'm sure I'm not the only one that has run quicker over the last year.

You'd probably get more accomplished by contacting the dsmtimes.org admin, at least thats what I would do.

I actually sent him emails with no reply whatsoever....just thought someone might have some inside info that's all.

If my memory serves me correctly (it doesn't always), the admin is one of the guys from FP. It might be worth a shot giving them a call.

I'v stopped submitting new times to dsmtimes.org, as the current manager is well over a year out of date. And the updates to it prior to the last Oct 10th update was about 6 months behind as well.

I know the times I have submitted since the fall of 09 are like 6 or 7 updates old anyway since I go to the track fairly often and change my setup just as often.

That's part of the reason I created our dynamic list, as I knew it would be way too difficult for DSMtimes.org to keep up with maintaining a manual list like that. Ours may not be "verified" but at least it's a bit more current and easy to update for members.

I will have to take a look. I understand that people have lives to live, but, over a year to update, that's just not cool. I mean I'd be happy with a quarterly update.....it reminds me of the old James Heck list....in the beginning there were updates by the day sometimes.....then it fizzles.......if the person doing the list loses interest, then alot of people miss out b/c of that one person. Anyway, not worth anymore breath, but take the list off the internet if you're not going to keep it up to date...that's my take on it.

I built the old timeslip/dyno system to function around data fields stored in the user profile database tables. When we moved to vehicle profiles, I transferred that data over to the vehicles, so that when you view the vehicle profile, you can see the timeslip data, instead of seeing it when you view the user profile. Now you can post and edit timeslip and dyno data on each vehicle profile you have posted.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the means to build out the new Timeslip and Dyno list pages to pull the data from the vehicle profiles. The data fields still live there and people can update their vehicle profiles with updated timeslips and dyno info, but we don't have sortable list pages to display the fastest times or high horsepower numbers like before. I've started the project a couple times with a couple developers and it didn't work out.

I would still like to do it, and I have some ideas on how to do it so that multiple timeslips could be added for each vehicle, making a full blown system out of it. The only problem is, I don't know if more than 5 people would use it these days, because people don't take the time to use systems that aren't social media apps - and when they do, the majority do it to consume content, not post it. People rarely post updates in their build thread these days, which is stupid simple to do. That gives me pause on investing any time, money, and development resources on a big project like that in this new attention/distraction addicted age we now live in. The masses care little about being part of a community and contributing to it, they simply want to consume content and browse feeds.
