I just have a quick question about dsmlink. I'm looking at getting Dsmlink for one of my 95's, in order to add it to my other 95's would I have to purchase it for each car or simply have each of the ecu's socketed? The reason I ask is two of my 95's are more show than go, I don't drive either one more than a few thousand miles a year but both do run rich. I am putting a significant amount of money into the 95 awd I just bought so figured dsmlink would compliment the rest of the upgrades. I might as well add it to the others if all I have to do is add chips. I looked around the threads a bit but didn't notice any similar posts, if I'm duplicating I do appologize. Thanks, John

The mods are good at weeding junk out of tech threads though, so our opinions do matter. Maybe this will be deleted because of not having to do much with the thread... hmm LOL. Email the the guy, but see what other people say too. Just take his view over random peoples if they contradict.

Buy one DSMlink package and have Tom and Dave burn two chips.

It's been a while since had it done but additional chips are pretty cheap.

There is no need for the cable and laptop to be in the car once tuning is done unless you need to log something.

I emailed ECM Tuning with the above question, what it looks like I Might do is get the V2 for now then upgrade only the AWD to V3 when it comes out. Although I dont drive the two much I do start them and run then through the gears in the shop once a week, I guess I'm not looking forward to sending the ecu's so far for the work to be done, I wish they were close enough for a drop off and pick-up service. The price isn't bad, $515 for the DSMLink, $30 for each chip (one included with base DSMLink package) and another $35 for each socketing service...... i was hoping to keep the bill below $600 total, not that $80 is going to break the bank but then I look at the practicality and two of the cars really dont need the upgrade but it sure beats cleaning o2 sensors all the time. Guess I'll take a little time and think about it before deciding anything, just hope that $50 off the package stays around for a while.

Yeah.... I think I'm going to give it a try, for the AWD atleast for now, the other two won't leave the garage until June anyway. I'm going to order in the morning.

So $515 +$30 (chip) +$35 (socketing) +$35 (socketing 2nd ecu) = $615. Just hardly over $600, not bad for a tuning program for 2 cars.

Kinda off topic ,but when does the V3 come out?

Nobody knows. This has been beaten to death over and over and over again. :beatentodeath:

Well, I ordered it this morning, Hopefully by this time next week all 3 of my 95's will be running DSMLink. $635.00 just barely pushed what I wanted to spend but I think it will be well worth it, hell, not having to clean o2 sensors anymore will be priceless. I'm new to using this type of tuning program and Mr. Dorris really helped alot with understanding how the setup works, I've dealt with some people who just try to make a sale and get you off the phone as fast as they can and I can definately say they don't do that at ECMTuning, I'm already very pleased and I don't even have mine yet. Now the sad part is two of the cars are show cars so they stay in the shop 95% of the time and given the foot of snow we just got I don't know how soon i will get to set the AWD up..... sad and tragic, damn wisconsin weather!!

As far as the release date and upgrade cost of V3, unknown and unknown, i would expect it to be out within 6 months and i have a ballpark as far as upgrade cost but was given a very rough estimate so i wouldn't want to speculate.

I wish there was a dancing smilie because im THAT excited :D

I would put money on the fact of it NOT coming out within 6 months, they still have a lot of work to put in on it. It is a complete re-write of the DSMLink program, and from what I have heard on the Link boards, it is going to be NIIIIICE :) Have patience while waiting for this greatness :thumb:
