I never took the drivers side axle out of the hub when did my recent engine swap.Pulled tranny off the axle and did hit the bracket trying to get it off the tj joint.

Now it seems that joint is disconnected or something and someone is telling me have to take the axle boot off and fix it and put boot back on.I also hear yolu can't buy jobber drivers axles or only from the dealer for like 350 an axle??

So now not sure what to do. Does the drivers axle click back into the tj part?
I know not explaining this too good.Sorry.

ok, im a little confused what you are trying to say but if it helps on a 1G the drivers side axle is a 2 part piece. You have the part that goes into the transmission with the tj bearing (intermediate shaft) and then you have the actual axle that bolts on the hub (CV shaft). The axle and the intermediate shaft click together to make one piece. You can get the axle from any parts store, but the tj bearing and the intermediate shaft are dealership parts only. The bearing and shaft only come as an assembly. Hope this clarifies and helps.
