So i bought a 99 GSX from some @sshole....he kinda dicked me outta it but i got it for 4700.....i got the engine running but now i have a problem with the drivers side axle....the part where you mount the bracket to the block doesnt line up right...the mount hole to the right mounts up but the left side bolt hole has no where to go...wtf?? the engine is out of a 97 gst....could the a/c bracket maybe different on a 97 gst to a 99 gsx?? and is that where the other bolt hole mounts to is the ac bracket......PLEASE someone help me....i cant drive it outta the shop..its ghetto rigged just to move it in and out of the shop:cry:

thanks man.....my question is does the left side bolt hole on the axle bracket mount to the a/c bracket or the block? the right side mounts to the block but does the left side?

Yes they both mount to the block. The left one uses a spacer for cars that dont have A/C instead of the A/C bracket. Is it possible the hole is there but the bolt is broke off inside and rusted to make it look like there is no hole? The blocks between awd and fwd are the same. At least on a 1g this is true, but I would assume that a 2g would be no different.

It mounts through the AC bracket to the block. You probably need to take out the lower right bolt of the AC bracket and replace with the longer one (order the bolt from an AWD) that goes through both the axel shaft mount and the AC bracket. I believe 2G GS-Ts do not have the axel shaft as they only have a longer axel that goes from the hub to the tranny. I know this is how the 1Gs are and I think 2Gs are the same.
