I'm in the search of a downpipe Megan racing has them for 150 and cxracing has it for 120 should I go with the Megan racing or the no name brand. Will it make a different? I don't want to sound like some civic I just want better flow they are both 3".

A pipe is a pipe. Get whichever one you want. I know they both offer cat-delete downpipes or whatever so get which one you think is best for you.

I have the punishment racing (same as cxracing) and I love it. A pipe is a pipe. The only things that change the sound of your exhaust are resinators and mufflers. Manifolds and o2 housing's do but hardly noticable.

Go with the cheaper choice.

My exhaust is stock. I have an holset h1e ready to put on but. I want to do the turbo and the eshaust together

Can I get the o2 housing and downpipe from eBay since you guys said piping is piping.

A pipe is a pipe. But whether said pipe FITS is another story, you can gamble with a china-bay product or get from a vendor and have no worries.

I've looked into eBay downpipes and o2 housings bit wasn't satisfied with what I was seeing and responses from the sellers.

I basically have a full ebay exhaust on my 2g. It fits well. Not perfect, but part of being a DSMer is finding solutions for things. For no more then 500$ I have a full 3inch turbo back exhaust that sounds and performs very well.

I cannot complain. I will however be going a different route on my 1g. I will still be buying an ebay down pipe, but I will be fabbing up the catback myself.

i buy a lot of my car stuff from ebay and i never have problems with fitment or welds or anything, people over react about these things just because they're cheap.

I'm all for cheap things..but if I can wait a couple months for a vendor special I'll pay the 20% more for re assurance

I used to buy a lot of things at Ebay, But.

Everything that I bought is out of my car, Because they Crack or Stop working.

My Cat Back is in two peaces, the resonator (inside the CAT), got crack and came out in peaces.

My Tubular Manifold Was really close of the Hood that it left a big discoloration on the Bottom on the Hood. (Throw it away).

I will never buy at Ebay Unless is something That I really can't find or I can't afford.

Ho, and my Exhaust didn't fit. I have to cut it and modify.

But not everything is negative, There were a lot of things that they did work flawless.

A tubular manifold will burn your hood regardless of ebay or not. Thats why you get them coated or wrapped.

You used an ebay cat? I dont know what to say to that.

Only thing Ive herd bad about ebay exhaust is their manifolds. The welds tend to crack.

Ive had my exhaust for 2 winters on my car and theres no sign of deterioration. And thats with all the shit that C DOT puts on our roads during winter.

Ill stand by my ebay exhaust

I say a cx racing down pipe on ebay for my 1g (65$+shipping)
i was looking at getting, But im going to ask around at local shops for a DP back or if it is cheaper, im going to for get the DP and have the exhaust shop do everything

Do you plan on leaving the stock cat back? if not I would go with the megan for the ease of fitment if you do go bigger with the cat back. If your only replacing the downpipe you are going to get the bottle neck issue with your flow of exhaust.

You mean me? If so Im getting a full exhaust, my stock is rust and craked. I was just looking at the down pipes online but im also going to ask around exhaust shops if they can just custom make it.

Go to your muffler shop and have them fab up a 3" turbo back exhaust, then if you want a big fart can on the end, order a megan racing muffler (or whatever brand you want, Megan is about $60) and have the shop put it on. I started out with Megan o2 and downpipe and cat back, ended up scraping the whole setup and having a shop fab a full exhaust for me, all I kept was my muffler, ended up costing $315 cndn from o2 housing back and sounds really nice, even get old V8 guys saying it sounds good.

I always recommend the cat-back I bought off of eBay because it had no fitment issues, sounds good, and has held up through 2 winters. However, I didn't have quite the same experience with the downpipe I bought on eBay (different seller). The only issue with it was that for some reason they designed it to bolt up to the stock cat-back. This means it necked down at the very end. Now, there is absolutely no logical reason to install a 3" downpipe with a stock cat-back (unless of course you're using a cut-out or something, but that's another scenario entirely) so I have no idea why they designed it this way. I simply hacked the end off and had it replaced with a 3" section and total cost was still around $100.

I have an Ebay o2 housing, and fitment was a pain.. the o2 sensor bung is positioned in a way that the end of the o2 sensor is smashed against the water pipe!!! And it was supposed to be stainless steel but has minor rust spots forming, its about a little over a year old but has only about 10k miles of use!

As for Downpipes... got mine from SlowBoy, got their full 3" turbo back, LOVE it Fits PERFECT, BUT its was at the price of $650 for aluminized steel! (i look back and wish i spent the money spread out better)
