Hey guys, my aunt decided to move my car while my brother and I were out and ended up backing into the side of our porch with the door open :ohdamn: The hinges are bent to hell and the door check just completely broke off but luckily I can still lift it up and get it to close so I can get around and what not. I went to a local body shop and they quoted me at right under 400 to get it fixed, hinges replaced etc., problem is the guy can't source the hinges or the check.

So I went on Craigslist and found an Eclipse parts car not too far away, only problem is I've no clue what to offer the guy for the hinges/check other than what the shop quoted me. I wouldn't be surprised if he was unwilling to part with just those either and insisted on selling the whole door either.

Can anybody shoot me some figures to work with? Thanks a bunch.

When I parted out my first car I sold the entire doors with mirrors/glass/hinges for $125 each. If he'll go for just the hinges I'd offer $20 or something. Your best bet would be the junkyard, they'll only be a few dollars there

Call the guy explain your issue and see what he says, might be a nice guy wanting to help a fellow DSMer if he sounds like he wants to make a fortune on a parts car, there are hundreds of half torn apart DSMs on CL keep looking, more will pop up.

If its a 2g I have a talon I'm disassembling right now for parts and the shell is going to the scrap yard, if you pm me your address I will send you the hinges. I'm not sure if I can help you with the check unless it Is for the passenger side because the drivers check is missing and I don't know if they are the same.
