I don't see any picture in that ad.

I also don't know what the "ecu adaptor and keyspan adptor" are. I own dsmlink and don't know what he's talking about.

BAD DEAL!!! I would imagine that the "ECU adapter" would be the socket that the EPROM sits in on the board. He could have meant the cord that hooks to the diagnostic port too. The Keyspan adapter is a USB to Serial Adapter cord for laptops that don't have a serial port. The 1G ECU uses a weird baud rate that is not compatible with most adapters. Go to the DSMLink wiki. I just bought DSMLink directly from ECMTuning and it cost 571.00. That included socket service and 2 day shipping. They were awesome. Do you have an EPROM ECU? Also, he said he 'tested it' There is no way to test it that I know of without removing the ECU from the car, having a socket soldered in, re-installing and connecting the diagnostic port to the car to your laptop with the DSMLink software on it.

The ECU adapter is most likely the OBD to serial plug. This is what you are buying when you buy DSMlink. The Keyspan adapter is a converter for serial to USB. Most newer laptops don't have a serial port so you need a converter. This is a proven one and is the one recommended by ECMTuning.

I would ask for pictures of the ECU board and also the serial number on the chip. This way, you can contact ECMTuning and verify that it's a legit copy. Also, if you go through with it and it's legit, make sure the owner will transfer it to you via ECMTuning. This way you have access to the forums and can get help easily.
