Does anyone run Ferrea High Pressure Dual Valve springs

Does anyone run these springs?

I have been looking at them, because a local has them for sale, NIB.
I searched around a bit and really havent found much info on anyone running them. Only thing I did find is someone saying something about they were so big and beefy that they were having to turn the head studs some to get them to fit and even not fitting in the head casting right. Has anyone heard of this or had any experience with these springs at all? Thanks for any input.

I have never heard of these, but Ferrea makes high quality valvetrain components so I wouldn't hesitate to buy them if you can get them for a deal.

How much is the guy selling them for?

Some headstuds require the valve spring to be removed before installing. I had the same issue installing A1 head studs on my head with Manley springs. I tried torquing the headstuds past the valve spring and it broke the spring locator.

Unless you're running a serious set of camshafts and BIG boost, a set of ARP headstuds and single springs is all you'll need.

Thanks for the replies. On my setup now, Im running FP 2x cams and single manley springs. I know for a fact several very reputable guys running single manley springs with the 2x cams even though FP recommended dual valve springs for this cam. Im on E-85 and at 25 psi now before my clutch started slipping. Once my new Southbend is broken in, i'll be pushing upwards of 30 psi on this 18g setup, before swithing to the Hx 35. So yea, big boost is in order.

I have been wanting to upgrade to something like the Kiggly beehives but I can get this set of Ferrea's for cheaper than the Kigglys.

30psi on an hx35 is not big boost. Any decent set of single springs will handle that all day long. If you can get em cheap, by all means, its nice to be overkill when there will be room for improvement, but I don't think its necessary for your current setup.

Your setup is fine for your goals. You would only need to upgrade if you went to a 280+ cam, and planned on actually making power beyond 8000 rpm's.

Instead of making a new thread I thought I would get in on this old one.

I'm wondering if anyone has any review of the Ferrea dual springs. Any modification to the head needed or straight drop in? Any issues with the head studs? I'm looking to run these with Delta K272s.

Blizz... look toward the Beehive springs over the dual.

Such as the Kiggley, Bee Mad or the GSC 5041 kit or the Ferrea

All are a good spring, and about the same price as the duals.

The big one is weight, smaller retainer, also a beehive from its design generaly can handle more cam lift when the same installed height is used.

On a dual spring it is common for the inner sping to be shorter, due the the step in the spring pad it sits on, and the step in the retainer.
