I'm building a 2.3L 6bolt with manley rods, and not sure which pistons just yet, but I have fierra dual springs that will be used in the head with stock valves which I know can handle any cam out there, but I want to be sure that my RPM band is in just the right areas.

Please choose in the poll above as to which cams you would get for this setup. Do not think about how much they cost, just post which you would use.

These will be in a 2g awd auto.

I choose the FP 3s because they are an agresive cam made to maximize efficientcy from the stroker engines. They cost 214$ each, but thats not bad.

Actually its green w/ black top. The red one is my first dsm ever, a 95 gst. Its currently being parted out/sold as a parts car. I'd love to join, and thanks for the invite, but I have a slite disliking towards CDSM and everyone who calls themself admin there. And the auto is pretty much put up for the winter to install a fuel cell and -8an complete fuel system and hopfully before the end of the year, a full t4 setup.

The black 95 talon you might have read about was a car I test drove at a shady dealership here in Wilm. Within 5 min of test driving it, it spewed oil leaks from all over the block and I drove it back completely dry of oil and laughed at them trying to sell it to anyone for 7k+

I'm comparing specs on the fp 3x and the crower cams and the fp3x seem to be a lil bigger, but I'm trying to understand what measurement they name to say which cam keeps the valves open the longest?

if you already have the dual springs defintately go with the FP3x or 2x. 3x if it is only occassionaly driven on the street, 2x if it is a DD or Street/Strip car. You might wanna look into the BCrower 280/280 cams, they are 315 for the set. http://www.briancrower.com/makes/mitsubishi/4g63.shtml

The 3x's on a 2.3 will idle almost like stock if they are degreed and set at 0. There are no driveability issues at all.

I didn't know HKS made 280 cams for DSMs. But go with the 3x's they are made for storkers with dual springs.

Actually, the FPCam3x has more lift and faster ramps than the FPCam3. When I first started reading this thread, the second I saw you were building a stroker, I immediately chose the 3x. They're specifically designed for strokers, from an excellent company, and over $100 cheaper (each) than the HKS.

There isn't really a choice. 3x hands down.

Ok, now lets switch it up a bit, What if I used the fierra dual valve springs, but on a 2.0L (I have a 2nd motor I may build) THEN which cams would you use? (Please dont post this response in the poll, just in your replies) Thanks guys.
