So i was looking at getting an FP race manifold for my 16g. Now i see this DN performance tubular manifold and it looks sick! But not sure what the quality of these are. Is the DN just as good as the FP manifold? is it worth the looks?

you can be certain that the FP mani will not crack or leak. Also unless you have a huge turbo, a tubular mani is not all that beneficial.

And regardless of quality, unless you spend a lot of $$$, or a lot of well though out bracing, the tubular is likely to crack.

As other have said go with the FP if your looking for a quality peice that will flow plenty and give you no issues. The DNP does its job but with the w ay it is constructed it is far more likely to crack later on down the road as opposed to the the FP especially if you start upgrading to some bigger turbos.

For the money you're going to spend on the manifold and almost gain nothing, I would get a good used HX35 with a bep bolt on housing. It might spool a little slower then your 16g but you will get a lot more power out of your set up. The sound of that turbo alone is worth getting it :)

My vote goes towards FP. There are a ton of threads on this subject. Search "dnp vs fp manifold".

I'm currently running the FP manifold and I couldn't be happier. Quality piece and they seem to almost always be on sale.

They are a very nice manifold, but they do crack over time. A friend of mine just showed me his last night and it cracked right along one of the welds halfway down the pipe.

Cant go wrong with FP, cast will hold for damn near forever

Lets put it this way I have a custom made manifold similer to dnp and my next manifold will be a FP one so that goes to show. How good they are! Had mine on for 5 years + but mine was made better then the dnp units!

Oh and my friend has a dnp and he hates it! Said the wastegate section was wrong and did not fit very well and they did not give good customer service aswell and basically told him to f#*k off and deal with it!!!

I've been running this DNP for 3 years and really like it. No cracks or any other issues to speak of...

I've been running a DNP for years also, still looks awesome

Are you going to still run it with the Black on there? I know the dnp is good in terms of quality, but I think for a stock dsm flange footprint, there might be a slight performance gain to be had with a properly port-matched FP manifold?

No doubt that it works, as you've had awesome experience with with it. I just know FP had countless hours of r&d in designing it so I think it could maybe help even more with spool and transient response.... I could be totally wrong though. For the price, it might be worth trying it out. If anything, its more rep for FP since you're already kinda doing the first review of the black. Either way, good luck.

OP...sorry for the thread jack! Lol

I ran a DNP manifold on my gst for a good 3 years before my 1g broke down. I live in Yuma, AZ where temps hit 115 in the summer. Held up like a champ even after racing every weekend in the 1/8th mile. After adding exhaust wrap which people say can cause your tubular manifold to crack, it still held up. It's a quality piece in my opinion with good bracing on it. BUT..I ran it with a stock size turbo, I cannot vouch for the unit if you are running something heavier as it adds more stress. But 3 years of hard abuse in the Arizona sun with no cracks proved to me that it was a quality piece. I also cannot compare it to an FP as I have never owned one but I do plan on owning one in the near future and use the DNP on another DSM as well.

I wouldn't go that far. ANY manifold can crack. And I have seen a cracked FP manifold, although it is extremely uncommon.

With that being said, I would choose an FP manifold over a DNP any day of the week. From a performance and longevity standpoint, the FP manifold is the best bang for the buck.
